That's crazy.

I have seen a video off of Kazaa of an original Mini going around a corner, and rolling it.

That just hurts to look at - the car looks brand new! All of the exterior behind the doors seems to be strangely intact! I don't know what a door, a hood, roof work, some window glass, and airbags cost, but if everything else is intact, someone handy might actually get a decent deal. The one thing that looks bad is that the frame at the front of the roof appears to be buckled.

Salvage the drivetrain put it on a engine dyno and see what you can do with it.

That car is completely BEAT ***. It's a salvage title. If he rolled it that hard (and tore the front airdam off) it's probably twisted.

It ain't worth $10,000 to me but to someone who wants the supercharger, engine, etc. Actually, I'd like to go in on this car with someone. You can have the engine. I want to put a 260-320HP RX-8 Wankel engine in it.

As far as measurements, it will EASILY fit.

One last note, why is the hood scoop a slightly different color than the rest of the car? See that?

Would you make it fwd or rwd with the RX-8 motor?

Oh and to answer the, "What was this person doing," question. I would guess probably something stupid.

Which one was that again? 22b rotary? or 33b? Imagine what fun if you could put a 22B rotary mated with a T8 turbo in the MINI? that would be all you'ld need!

RX-8 rotary is the brand new rotary motor coming out this year. Pick up an issue of Sport Compact Car from the past couple of months and they go into great detail about how cool it is.

It had to be really run hard to roll it and do that damage. $10,000.00 No way to much. It will never be the same even if someone does try to repair it.

I've not seen a Mini caravan at speed through twisties, but how much inside rear wheel waving goes on with Cooper? I remember the old GTI's looked like dogs at a hydrant around tight corners.

I know, I don't understand that either. It looks like NONE of the airbags went off. I'd have expected one of the seat bags and/or the side curtain.

There's something about this whole wreck that I just don't get...

There is a good chance that this car was not being driven when it rolled, i.e. it could have been 'rolled' as it stood by a group of vandals. The damage is consistent with that kind of scenario. If you look, there is not the kind of scraping damage that a car gets as it rolls then slides along the pavement. Also, the right side is almost unscathed. The hood had a small dent and the leading edge of the roof is caved because the majority of the weight being carried up front would make the car 'teeter' on the roof front.

I say this car was vandalized, not rolled while driving. A group of strong thugs probably wanted to test their strength.

It looks more like it was a serious case of vandalism than an accidental roll.

I sent the seller a note inquiring about how it was damaged. They didn't know saying they buy these from insurance companies, individuals, etc. without knowing the accident details.

True. You'd probably be near $20k if not more after the repairs and it would never be the same I'm sure so why bother?
