Here's a pic of my DS Cabrio with sideskirts only. I like it! Keeps the slats on the front grill.

I think it would depend on which MINI you have. The MCS does look good with the side skirts because the front is very similar to the aero front end. I do not think the MC would look right. Look in my gallery for pics of my aero kit.

so if you get them you have to have MINI service paint them - right? cost?

yes but i got them second hand, and i have a good relationship with the garage that does the professional paint job,

the garage charges me 80-90 euro for the paintjob and another 80 euro for the install of the skirts... and i am happy this way....

but i am not sure it will suit my mini cooper PURE SILVER (model2002) very well , look at the image below and tell me what u think ?

here is a pic of my car ;

keep in mind i will get some 17 "wheels (Tenzo rs5) in the nearby future

well as u can read in the above post , i have got a mini cooper (model 2002)

and am not sure the aeroskirts will make it a more valued car.... wright now it looks a little feminine, but maybe with those skirts it will look more masculine....

also i would like to see the result with the 17 inch wheels fitted .

what do u guys think, i also have the possibility to buy a aero front bumper from someone.

should this then be a better solution. A front aero and aero sideskirts.... or not ....

thanks for the feedback

I like the OEM aero side skirts and think they look better than stock, but their sharp angles and ridges don't match completely with the original bumpers. If you also add the aero bumper it will look very good.

If you want to do just the side skirts, I can suggest these from a German vendor: http://www.sport-service-tuning.de/s...oducts_id=1247. I think they are a better match with original bumpers. I purchased a set but haven't installed them yet. The cost is much lower than the MINI version but shipping to the US was very expensive (as much as the product). You mentioned euros so I guess you are in Europe and your cost would be very reasonable (also note you can choose which language you want to use on the website).

I am referring to just the side skirts in this picture (they also sell front and rear bumpers):

However if you can handle the cost, my top choice would be the MINI side skirts and front bumper together. They would really transform a 2002 Cooper.

I've got others in my gallery. Personally, I like the look of just the skirts.

Got the side-skirts and rear apron on, and will be getting a front lip "soon"... But for now...

Little crooked, but it works...

More in the gallery, though.

Take care,
Leo.

There's something wrong with this photo: the front and rear wheels are identical -- as in exactly the same lighting. They have been photoshopped, and my guess is from another vehicle, given the size of the brake disc...

Here's mine for your enjoyment ... Check my gallery for other angles.

I felt strongly enough that the combination of standard front and rear fascias with aero side skirts was best that I spec'ed them when I ordered the car. I think they add an even more integrated, classy style to the side view.

I got to keep the original black plastic skirts that were removed at delivery to get these installed, so I have them in case something unexpected (bad) happens to the painted aero skirts.

The wheels are Dare X4 from Dare Motorsport in the UK. They are no longer made, and in fact they were created in MINI fitment only for a group buy on MINI2 a couple of years ago. BTW, that is mikeythemini's car (newministuff.com). He has since replaced it with a newer MINI.

Good thread... I've wanted the Aero side skirts for ages. It's good to see some great photo's of the side skirts only.

So where is the best place to get a hold of aero side skirts... and can you buy them painted already?

Nice way to dish on the new employees, man... If you had a good experience with somebody, by all means mention that; but don't dash out the names of new employees in the open like that... Should've just said "Ask for Paul, as he'll be sure to take care of you." Don't need to say "Don't talk to this guy or that guy - they don't know anything."... That's messed up.

But then again, this is NAM after all, isn't it?

Leo.
