In the northern burbs (like, waaaay northern burbs) there are always "cruise nights"...though i don't know why they're called that when you just park and mingle (or talk sh*t for SOME people...yeesh...).

People always hang out at the Rock n roll Micky D's in Gurnee

of course there's Scoop the Loop in Waukegan, they have another one but the name excapes me right now.


anyway, just thought i'd throw that out there.

 

I'd like to see more details, and since I'm in Round Lake Beach on weekends, I could try and make a few events.

 

I know barrington has them on thursdays, just park on main street like 7pm may/june-oct

I rooled into one by accident in Highwood last summer, think I saw 2 MINIs parked, confused people I actually wanted to keep going down mainstreet and go get back on Sheridan. I hadn't done one yet so I didn't want to reccomend it, wihtout knowing. I kinda got the vibe there were American V8's targeted. I'd be up for giving it a try if they were accepting of MINIs

 

^ that's kinda how it is in Richmond. they f'n looooooove themselves some corvettes. the whole "cruise" is supposed to be for classic cars, but somehow new corvettes ALWAYS make their way into the lot.

i hate corvettes. hate...them. ughhh.

Gurnee is friendly to new and classic cars, and they generally have a large turn out. i haven't been there since about 2002 on the cusp of the whole "import" explosion. after the whole "import racer" thing got outta control and everyone was "modding" (i hate that word) their cars, there would be the die hards that would still hang out there with their under glow and neon washer jets in the dead of winter. it was so hilarious.

 

Not sure if you guys would be interested in this or not. I have held 2 events last year with AMG cars, at my lounge.

If you guys want we can do one at my lounge, located in Schaumburg. I own Fumare Hookah lounge, I just purchased a Cooper S just 2 days ago. Very excited and would like to learn from fellow enthusiasts. I have another event coming up on April 14th, 07 for all BMW and Mercedes cars, so far we have 20 cars signed up. Great way to just hang out and smoke some hookah, and talk to other enthusiasts. Let me know, if this would work or not for you guys.

I was at Fumere lounge for the first time Friday night and had a really good time. I was wondering if there are 2 open spots for your April 14th event?

 

neat! the only hookah bar i've been to is A La Turka in Chicago on Lincoln.

I just reserved the vip area this thursday night for me and my friends birthday. I'll make sure to bring my MINI.

 

I think I took that call, did you call on a Tuesday night to reserve. Yah I have that on the reservation book for like 10 ppl I think. Damn, I didn't bring my Mini today, maybe I will go home after work and pick it up. See you then.
