Replacing Bonnett Stripes

I have black bonnett stripes on my 06DSMCS that have suffered from bug hits and stone chips. Is it possible to remove them and install new stripes
and whats the best and easy way to do it. Any help would be appreciated.

Silverbullit, I think some gentle heat (with a hair dryer or heatr gun set on low) will work well to remove them. New one's install easily once the surface is clean.

Definitely do a search on both the removal of bonnet stripes, and installation of new stripes. Also, OctaneGuy recently removed bonnet stripes on MiniClo's car, and posted lots of pics on the project. That thread should be easy to find...I believe it was in the detailing forum, but a search should help you out.

Good luck!

Dave

i worked at an auto graphics place for 3 yeras. and what is sait above is true. just a blow dryer or somthing to head up the decal then slowly start to pull the decal away. try not to pull hard it would be a shame to lose paint. but once the decals is hot it breaks down the adhesive and becomes a little more streachy. after that use some goo gone or somthing to take off the adhesive left over from the decal. after that wash the hood with soap and water.

ProfessorDave & Malcon;
Thanks for the input. i did look up some of OctaneGuy's posts and got some good info. I wonder when he finds time to detail cars as it seems some one is always seeking advice from him. Thanks again!!!
