My Take On Driving Lights...

Well, I felt like ****ing something up tonight.

I decided to cut up ANOTHER aero grille. This time, the middle grille.

I couldnt figure out a way to mount my Hella's in a way that nobody else had them. So i just got out the dremel, the hack saw, and my box of randm parts. This is what I came up with.

No coments on the filth, Its winter.

I cut out about 6 inches of the middle grille and bumper.

Took a piece of 1 inch hollow box stock. Bolted that to the bumper subframe. No rattles here. Welded the light brackets to the bar. And the rest is rather basic and straightforward. All I have left is to take the bar back off and finish it, and paint it up.

I tried to mimic the look of the Gumball Rally Cobra, but with round lights instead of square.

Didn't you used to have 2 rectangle ones?

I like it. I've long planned to do something similar But I'm not tipping my hand until its done and I've got photos. But harkening back to classic racers is where my inspiration cam from too.

And I was out in the snow washing my MINI today so

Cool! Nice job. I mounted mine in the (more or less) stock location, but made my own brackets.

Thank God for the Dremel tool!

Oh and cool Deutschland grill badge.
