R50/53 Cold Weather Package...??
I imagine that this has been covered before....but I have a question.
We ordered the CW package, and when we looked over our MINI at the lot ( due for delivery by mid-week) I noticed that it only had three items listed under the CWP;
Heated washer jets, front seats, and mirrors.
According to my MINI book, which I received from the dealer, it states the CW package as containing Auto-dimming rear view mirror, heated seats, mirrors, and washer jets, heated windshield and rain-sensing windshield wipers.
What gives?
I noticed other MINIs having the square sensor up against the windshield in front of the rear view mirror. Ours does not have that.
Is the book wrong? Or do we have a legitimate gripe when we pick the car up?
Thanks for any input.

the webiste only has teh three heated mirrors, seat and washers... adn that is what I got in mine with the coldweather package... the dimming mirror and rain sensing wipes are seperate... are there ** next to those iteam in your book i'll have to look at mine I can't iamgine they be lying about that.. doesn't make any sense that dimming mirrors and rain wiper would be ina cold weather package anyway... ( they have nuthin to do with snow or chilly weather.) if there in you book I'd bithc hardcore btu I knew I wasn't getting those items when I built my cooper online.
Huh!
Does anyone else have the black MINI Cooper booklet? It's the one with the cascading ( or stair-step) cover. In the equipment section, under packages, Cold Weather, it states all five as standard for the MC.
The booklet was printed in 2002, maybe that was one of the " we reserve the right to make changes without notification" things.
Oh well...probably just didn't pay attention at that point of the sales pitch. I'm sure my dealer will artfully point that out.

When they originally thought of a cold weather package, they included those items. But the package was going to cost about $500-600. Since those items weren't ready to be released, they introduced the CW package without those items at a lower price.
So for $300 you get heated seats, heated sideview mirrors and, heated washer jets. :smile:

PS
The auto dimming mirror and rain sensing wipers became available in december. The heated windshield has been completely omited.

Thanks for the input! That answers the questions. Thank God for this site, I've learned alot about the MINI that would have taken quite a while otherwise.
Plus my dealer gets fairly defensive when I ask questions that she can't answer or has no knowledge of....so I've bypassed that and search for the answers here.
Thanks again,
Jim

miniusa.com tends to nto have the greatest information but when it comes to the vechile builder it is bar none hands down teh best on any site and stays fairly more current to what mni offers, one of the only major thigns I've noticed is that the pop up abotu teh toggel switches leaves teh empty socket filled jsut as an extra switch.. how sad they didn't't just leve all the switches in... it is estecticaly more pleasing.. ok so without posting a nother messege does anybody knwo if you can get asc/dsc installed after you've bought the car??
JimBob, I have that booklet as well (though I had to discover it myself on a rack in the dealership, they weren't apparently eager to give them out) and noticed the other day that it listed more than I had understood to be included in the CW package. I just assumed they had changed the package contents after the booklet had been published.

Jimbob, your brochure is from the 2002 model year, and even then it's not right!
The Cold package is the heated seats, mirrors and washer nozzles
MiniChristina is correct;
--> the heated windshield was only on early MY02 builds, and is no-more
--> the auto-dim mirror/rain-sensing wipers are a separate option, and not included in any package.
also, miniusa.com's 'build your own' is accurate
Cheers,
Ryan
