Alex, maybe you can help....

Alex, buddy, you've always helped the MINI community and I have a high opinion of Tirerack because of it, , and I've certainly always received top-quality purchases and service even on non-MINI automobiles ...

So, there's this guy on the BMW forum making a lot of noise about an experience at TR..

I know this is not your gig, but maybe you could forward this to someone who can speak up for TR there.

It's e90post.com... link

I stood up for you guys, but you know how forums are, peep tend to support their co-members.

Anyway, help if you can- thanks!

Bart

I read that thread and all it did was convince me not to hang with the e90 or BMW guys. Sheesh. There are better attitudes and more maturity on VWVortex's 1976-1984 A1 VW boards! Needless kvetching about valve stems. You'd think they would see the bigger picture, all the information on the TR website, all the help TR has given out - for free! Maybe it was or wasn't a bad decision to not support on the TPMS stems, but the complete picture certainly was not given. From the filthy mouths and bad attitudes on e90, all that thread did was make me want to brush my teeth.

Problems happen. And don't think that problems don't happen with a tirerack order. They deal with a huge volume of business.

Moral of the story?
Don't let problems get in your way.

A wise person would go with superior knowledge and support that tirerack and Alex offer.

Otherwise be careful out there.

Tire Rack wouldn't sell me hubcentric rings even though I knew the size. So what? I called Discount Tire and they did. Saying that TR 'sucks' because they don't support what they don't sell.....umm, again, so what? They have no obligation to sell to anybody....welcome to capitalism. Selling a set of $15 rings can be more hassle than it's worth. The posts in that thread were a bit ridiculous.

+1. TR did sell me hubcentric rings for my not-purchased-there BBS RKs though, even gave me some holp finding them from BBS. I guess it depends on the wheel, the size, the day, and the salesperson. Never had a problem with TR though, always been good to me.

We have a very strict policy on TPMS parts, we get better pricing than most dealers offer. We're not in the buisness of selling TPMS, just allowing our customers an added convienece with their tire and wheel orders.

We do now sell hardware if specs can be provided - to the best of our availability. Another recent change.

Alex
