Going through withdrawals

I got the Service Engine soon light and noticed fluid on my garage floor Thursday morning (Feb 1). Took it in and the dealership determined the thermostat was leaking. . Not sure what caused it.

I also had them take a look at the heater for the driver's seat. They said that parts needed to be ordered. Parts did not come on the truck friday or monday. I am now waiting to see if they come in on wednesday's truck.

Apparently MINI changed computer systems and orders for parts have vehicles were entered in the old system just before the change and the orders did not get correctly placed. Orders have been reenetered to correct this. I have seen this with other companies in other industries.

The downfall of all of this is I am driving a rental. After almost a week I am sick of it. It is a brand new (110 miles when I got it) Chrysler Pacifica. It is a gas guzzling tank. It currently says that I am getting 16 mpg, but that drops the more I drive it.

I hope the parts come in soon and I can get back to motoring.

They foul up and didn't even set you up with a loaner for the additional period. (Even still its not the same as having your MINI to motor in) Hope you get it back soon. At least it'll be a little less road salt to wash off this week.

I did not make an appointment when I brought the MINI in so they gave a rental. They have let me know as soon as the truck gets there if the parts came in or not. They have been very good about keeping me informed of what is going on.

I never make an appointment for anything. I take it in because it seems like if we call for an appointment we dont get in for 2 weeks.

I am with you... I am missing my MINI too. I was in a car accident last March... oh did I say 2 days before AMVIV... and I have had the front end painted 3 times ... the paint keeps peeling. So I took it in last Thursday for the 4th time (and this better be the last) to get painted. I have had to drive my daughters old car and I hate it!! I am 4 ft 10 and I am driving a Mits Lancer. I cant see over the steering wheel very good :impatient

Much Better!!

I got the MINI back this morning. I hated having to use brakes around sharp curves.

I am not sure if I am doing the auto show on Saturday, definitely need a carwash if I do .

You know you want to. A nice warm drive down LSD and then the sharing of good times in the Lounge.

I've got 4 tickets so I can do this and go back the next week too, I like oging on a weekday when there are little crowds and doing a good 2-4 rounds with all the cars; not being in town last year for it was a big deal for me as it is somethign a of a serious tradition.

It is awfully early for me, leaving from near Gurnee. Last year I did the First Look for Charity. Not a large crowd and food all over the place and all of the ***** were still on the vehicles. I got the tickets for free but did not get as lucky this year. It might be something I would do every other year.
