I have changed my wheels to 17x7 and running on 215/45/17 tires
and I have noticed that my steering wheel vibrates when i get up to 80km/h
I was just wonder what went wrong and is there a fix for it?

PS: I have yet to do alignment after changing my wheels

 

You don't need to do an alignment when changing wheels. It sounds like the tires were properly balanced. Carry it back to the place of install and let them know. I've had to do this so it's not out of the ordinary.

 

are you using hub rings??

My experience was...
I had the plastic hub rings that the tire shop "said" would work .. But I could feel the vibration when driving.. I had the alignment checked before getting the new wheels - so I knew that was not the problem.. I kept insisting that metal hub rings were needed for a proper fit. Plus I heard that some of the plastic rings can get messed up with frequent tire rotations.. Finally they got a metal set in .. and wow.. it was smooth as glass..

Hub rings, not balanced properly, could need road force balance, check to see how much weight they put on the wheels. I one is excessively balanced it probably needs the tire dismounted and spun. Should check mating surface on hub and new wheels. If not prepped properly wheel could be sitting off balance.
