Should we change the name of this forum?

This forum was set up a long time ago as a BAMA forum, but it is consistently used by many Alabama MINI enthusiasts from all over the state.

With all of the changes going on right now at NAM, I was wondering if we should change this forum's name to include all Alabama MINI folks?

I'll propose that we change it to "Alabama Motoring Society" as an all inclusive name for the forum.

Or do folks have other ideas?

my 2 cents. Was thinking these forums was set up as club forums. As Alabama Motoring Society is not an actual club, but more of a Alabama Motoring Enthuseist gathering, I thought we tried doing a Statewide club with City clubs underneath, and no one was enterested. As for as changing the name of this forum its no biggie with me, was just thinking that these were actual club forums.

I am fine with the forum being called Alabama Motoring Society. I am a member of BAMA but we are somewhat small & the Rocket City Minis join us for chatting regularly. All changing the forum name would do is technically make it more inclusive (since in reality it already includes our Northern friends anyway)

I never really paid much attention to the Birmingham part, just read it (as it concerns me) as the 'Bama forum

Given the amount of folks who go the distance to attend events, it'd be a good thing. And Birmingham folks would be more aware of other goings on as well.

I do like the Alabama Motoring Society name and emblem. Of course I also like the use of BAMA as a tidy acronym.

Here's another thought..

I know some people (not me, I have no college or football allegiance at all and don't care either way) who are such diehard Auburn fans that they would never join a group called "B.A.M.A." just because of the name, even if it was all about the Mini's. And visa versa. And it makes me think of the Mayonnaise and Jellies too
I'm all for the "Alabama Motoring Society" although I never ever call driving "motoring" How about Alabama Mini Cooper Enthusiast or Mini Cooper Enthusiast of Alabama.

"Alabama Motoring Society" works for me.

By The way for anyone new, there is another Forum for Alabama MINI owners.
http://www.magicmini.com/forum/ . Rocket City Mini's use it as their main forum. And Bamamini.com is linked to it also.

Yucca, here is a thought. We could change the name of the forum. Then in the line underneath the forum list both www.bamamini.com & www.rocketcitymini.com websites there. That way RCM will have their website listed also.

PS. But it is amazing now, how everyone wants a statewide name. And just a year ago seemed like pulling teeth to get anyone interested.

It would get us back to first, Alphabetically, by region. And the Rocket City guys would have a (more pronounced) NAM presence. We're a pretty strong group, what with no dealer support after all. 18 Alabama MINIs at the dragon last year?

Rather than name the forum in a singular form, name to indicate the clubs in Alabama. Each club sould continue to have its own identity, i.e. BAMA or RCM. I would suggest we name the forum - Alabama MINI Clubs. As has already been demonstrated everyone in Alabama is posting on the forum, plus many MINI friends. It might get some notice by those decision makers about the placement of any new dealers when the time comes for possibly adding additional dealers. just my two cents.

Can't we all just get alone.
