Well, my MINI has finally moved from the "On Order" status to "Scheduled For Production." What does that exactly mean anyway? Is it being built as I type? I know they estimated production on 5.9.03. So does that mean it's going into production early?

If you have an estimated production date of May 9 you could see your car in a little over a month depending on where you are located. My estimated production date was March 14 and I took delivery on April 12 on the west coast.

Remember, the Owner's Lounge is usually a week behind in reporting the status of your MINI.
I'd start checking the shipping site as soon as your production date has arrived. That was the only way I could track our MINIs progress with less time lag than waiting for the Owner's Lounge to update their data.

That's wild. My cooper has the exact same estimated production date. Looks like we are gonna be twins, BadApple.

Call the 866 number. The web site seems to be behind in keeping current status. Your car may have already moved to status 150 ! Good luck!

I also have a May 9th production date and my MINI is at status 150! Chances are that's where you're at too.

I don't usually chime in on these discussions, but...

Check this thread for a list of production codes and their meanings. Likely cross-posted many other places on MCO as well. 150 means that they've "pulled the parts" necessary to produce your car. Practically, this means that they've assembled your car in the database and are moving those parts toward assembly.

BTW, as I'm sure you know, all "production dates" are posted as Fridays. Therefore, even though you have a 5/9 date, your car is probably going to be produced in one of 6 days before (or after) that date. But, you're getting closer!

Hey now.
I too have a May 9 production date and I just check that thread above which listed code numbers. My Mini is now at 152--which means it's in the paint shop! Woo-Hoo.
Hope that helps you out.

Where do you other "May Niners" live?
I'm in Los Angeles.

BadApple,

Did you get a chance to call the toll free number? What is the status # of your car?

Soon you'll be motoring!

I just moved to "Scheduled for Production" as well. I ordered 4-11 from Roadshow in Memphis. I had a 5-16 "estimated production" date. The chic at the 866# told me it went into production yesterday and should be in the body shop next week. FWIW...MCS, DS/B w/ stripes; sport pkg, H/K and computer. Can't wait for June.

Y'all should consider joining the "Can't wait for May" discussion - they'll be discussing these exact issues - what all the numbers mean (137 to 196), how to track your order both in the factory and on the boats, through customs, etc. In general, count on about 10 days from 150 (production started) to your car actually being a car, another 4-10 days waiting to get on a boat, 7-14 days to get across the Atlantic depending on your delivery port, then the dreaded black hole of the VPC/VDC (customs - wouldn't want to let a MINI in if its full of powdered-sugar doughnuts). Customs can take as little as 2 days to up to a month - and no information will be available about your car except that it hasn't cleared yet. Then another 2-5 days on a truck to your dealer, and 2 days to a few weeks, depending on how fast your dealer can prep the car, how many cars they get with yours, and how many dealer-installed accessories you have ordered, before actual delivery.

Phil

My Mini has been born.... Yeah!
I called the hotline and was told that my Mini was completed on May 2nd.
7 days before its build date of May 9th.
I can almost smell the new lapis leather now.

I called today as well. She said my car is at code 150 and should be finished this week. Then the real wait begins, the docks.

Hello fellow May 9 Production Daters!
We are all in the same boat, pun intended, and I was wondering if you have figured out your financing or filled out any of your paperwork yet?
I'd like to get it all done before I pick it up...but is the idea that you deal with the dealer and paperwork for a few hours at the dealer the day of delivery?

Let me know ho you guys are planning on doing it.
I plan on putting 10k down and having payments for the rest.

Hope all is well.

Thanks!

Mine said he'd call me and get together to discuss the finacing and paperwork a week to 2 weeks before the car is delivered. However, I really don't like to settle things sight unseen. To make sure everything is fine with the car first.
