March 25th will be a run off event in the morning where the top five drivers in each class can participate to determine a champion in each class for the season. Then in the afternoon it's fun run time.

June 9 will be the date for the SCCA annual dinner and awards ceremony for the season.

It's been awhile since I have posted.....I have the MINI autocrossing bug again .
I've registered and should be running in a new class this season....2007 MCS in GS .
I just got to heat cycle the new rubber before this weekend

 

Well it will be good to see you back in action? 6 speed with LSD option and 16" stock rims with Avon Tech Ra 215/40-16 tires courtesy of Motormouth! I won't be surprised if you kill everyone on PAX.

That's been Mike W.'s role this past two years and now he's fixing to move up to SM class with a 300 HP MCS turbo (fireballed). If he doesn't get everything he needs by this sunday then he'll likely run in G stock again with the ole #16 GS.

The new season is shaping up. It'll be good to see you. I have GS magnets for you to use.

Oh great another MINIs with LSD. I saw about this on the HMMC Forum (Robert was writing about it). Are you co-drivinig his car? It was sort-of encrypted but adding it together with your post I figured you two were sharing his car, with wheels sponsored by MofH, and tires provided by you.

The new 2007 MCS is owned by motormouth but co-driven.

So it looks like a bunch of MINIs in G stock vs another bunch in SM class.

The battle of the MINIs- which side will prevail????

The 24K MNI ran H Stock last season but did not have enough races under her to trophy
The S/G Cabrio usually placed on top in HS, though. (BTW, the wife still owns the Cabrio)
This season I will co-drive with MotorMouth in his fresh '07 MCS.
I had a difficult time finding a 16" wheel/tire combo.:impatient

Due to other events scheduled at the stadium, the following 3 Solo event dates has been changed:

• From 10/21 to 10/14
• From 11/18 to 11/25

In combination with two sunday autocross dates there will be some additional test and tune dates at Aloha Stadium lower parking lot area.

Save the dates and have two driving days of fun.

It's also a great opportunity for practice or for fine tuning your suspension.
You can use it for trying out-
Other wheels or tires.
Downshifting.
Getting closer to those orange cones with no penalty.
Driving on an autocross course with an instructor of your choice.

Scales for weighing your car and for doing corner balancing will likely be available for a fee. One price per weighing or one price of all day use.

And an update on legislation action this term-
Oahu Race Track Bill (HB567)...FINAL postponed to Friday 27 April 07 @ 2:30 PM in Room 423. Sub-chair said either they vote to push it to the floor for a vote...or it's dead until next session (the Fall). Issue appears to be finding funds.

Next event is Test and tune day on July 21st saturday.

Cost is $40 which includes instruction and driving nearly the whole day (volunteer to work one hour) with the autocross course set up at the lower Stadium parking lot.

You can ask for an instructor or two and try out many things with no pressure to score a fast time- it's all for practice.

The following day is the real event and SCCA autocross (third event for the season).

We are taking sign ups for the Test and tune date now and if you miss the July 21st date you can also try to attend the Aug 18 test and tune date when we will be doing it all over again followed by an autocross event on Aug 19th sunday (event #5).

It's first come first served so try to think about whether you want to come and try out autocrossing. Think of the instruction that day as a car control clinic.

 

Pre-registration is open for anyone that has driven in autocross in the past season since April 2006.

Go right away to SCCAHawaii.org and click on the pre-reg button to sign up.

Once signed up you MUST attend or you will loose the ability to pre-reg the saturday before the sunday event.

Hope to see you this saturday for the Test and tune at the stadium or Sunday for the actual Autocross event. Busy weekend.

For the Hawaii SCCA season-
2007 – 2008 Run-off qualifications...Total of 12 events for the season. To qualify for the championship run-off event: • You must have participated in a minimum of seven (7) regular Solo events AND • Be in the top 5 in points standing in one class.
