i believe if u have stock ride height, 225 shouldn't be a problem.. anyone can confirm that?

225/45/17 on 17x7 is not a problem for the wheel.

the problem *might* be fitment on the car but can be easily solved
by either spacers or minor trimming on the inside of the rear fender arch.

i put toyo proxe s4 215/40's them and i personally didnt like the look... they didnt appear to fit well for me, rim was too skinny... just my opinion

Width is agressive, will take mods.

Diameter is tall enough to rub and or
slow you down in exceleration due to the 25 inch od on 225/45/17.

225/45/17 Kumho Ecsta MS on 2005 MCS

I previously had 224/45/17 Kumho Ecsta MS on my 2005 MCS. They looked great and I don't remember having rubbing issues. The car is stock height.

I need a new set and am considering the same tires or the new Ecsta XS series in the same size. Any comments, opinions would be welcome. Thanks!

225/45-17 will fit stock wheel

Rubbing might happen under load with four people and stuff in the MINI or over dips.

The stock tire diameter is about 24.3" and this tire is too tall at about 25"

A better choice would be-

205/45-17
215/45-17
215/40-17 if you have a lowered suspension

25 diameter that is bigger than my 18 inch wheels. 225/45-17 did not work with me it busted out 2 of my fender trims had to mod. I would go with 215/40-17. Or you could give 225/35-17 a try.

Quick question about this set-up.

I'm currently running Enkei RPM2's 17x7 et45 on 215/45s. I've got 15mm spacers up front to clear my Wilwoods. I'm not having any rubbing issues.
My new set of rims are 17x7.5 et40.
I just threw on some 225/45s. The new rims have more brake clearance so I'm going to put on some 5mm spacers, possibly 3mm.
Will I have any rubbing issues?

225/45/17 is wide and tall enough to create rubbing.
