Winter Top Care

I have a brite new LY/B MC Cabrio. The snow has finaly arrived here in Western NY and I need some advise on how to take care of the top.

I have checked the forums and I can't find anything on how to protect the top from winters salty smuck.

Thanks,

I think that by winter, it is too late for proactive protection (ie 303 or RaggTopp). That will have to wait until the warm temps come back (if ever) and the sun returns to bake the application of those products.

Winter time means that you will be forced to be a little more reactive. Rinsing the top when it is dirty or when you wash the car is about the best you can do for now. Don't use soap, just plain water. Scrub if need be with a dedicated brush with feathered/flagged bristles so as not to damage the canvas.

To quote a line from the Princes Bride:
"I do not envy you the headache you will have when you awake. But for now, rest well and dream of large women."
So until spring, dream of clean cars.

If your Mini is brand new from the factory, they would have treated it with protectant there & it should be fine to get you thru the winter

Thanks for the info. Spring is only 8 short weeks away.

Cheers,
Jack
