I have a PC, a DP oder and OctaneGuy's DVD coming.

1. I want to get rid of some of my old product, without throwing it away.
so my space is cleaner and detailing is efficient.
2. Beyond product, what else should I get?
3. In the spring I plan on putting down a race deck stile floor,
my only concern is using a floor jack and jack stands on it.

 

Do you have a good assortment of quality microfiber towels?
Storage cabinets for garage?
Good lighting?

 

i kinda shyed away from my plans to do the floor for the exact
reasons. i want the coin pattern tiles but with me using the floor jack
and jack stands quite frequently it will either tear, floor jack will not
roll properly; and my rollaway and detailer carts will also not roll properly..


i recommend you get a lot of sealable containers for your towels and
pads, detailer cart, windup power extension cord holder from Griots,
lots of lights and more lights, and some more.

 

jeez. yes, lighting. I wish I had my own garage and did not have to borrow a family member's. I would place about 3000 watts of lighting in the garage like from every angle possible and most bouncing off the walls for indirect glow.

If I could, I would use incandescent or LED lighting.

Also, some huge kerosene heaters, like 2 of them. freakin *** cold in that garage

 

3000 watts, huh? Spoken by someone who doesn't have to pay an electric bill I bet.

I got some 4-foot flourescent tube fixtures from home depot, 12 bucks each, bulbs are two for 6 bucks. 2 of the 20watt fixtures are plenty for my garage.

As for the flooring, wehn using a jack or stands, I plan to put a flat piece of wood underneath them so they don't damage the floor tile.

 

Oh, I pay the bill, I love electricty/heat/light bulbs. Yes, 20 150 watt bulbs would be ideal

im the guy that has his place at 80 degrees mimicing a summer night. my power company *hearts* me.

 

the garage is heated and has shelving, (I hope to some day to intall cabinets) things get dirty, so I do need sealable containers for towels and pads. has any body found containers that work and how many towels do I need and what is the Ratio of MF to cotton?

Lights I didnt think of that, all ther is now are two four foot florescence and the boot is a dark dark area . more florescence , those halogen painters lights, day light bulbs? (LED?) help!!

A detailer cart sounds cool, where would I find one? Is it just a tool cart that one uses for detailing?

I think with 3000 watts you wouldnt need a heater. My 900 watts warms things up quickly.

 

that's another good point about lighting it doubles as a heat lamp. I plug in as many lightbulbs as possible in my mother's unheated garage. After an hour it becomes decently warm.

Its a great idea. My 900 watts took the garage temp from 31 to 51 deg in 30 min. So I washed the jeep with Quick N Easy Wash.

 

yeah, interesting efficiency from incandescent bulbs. "so much is wasted as heat, terrible on your electricity bill"

not so. If it also heats your garage, it doing another useful job. I tried flourescent lighting and the slow hz pulse of those things accompanied by green-white lighting kinda doesnt give an accurate picture on a green mini.

I havent tried LED lighting yet though.
