is there a deadline yet?

i currently have a mini cooper that i got on october 30th 2006. it was new. i think that i might want to trade it in and get the convertible instead because i like them so much. i would have to save some more money first because im only 16 and my parents are not going to buy me another new car. is there a deadline to order yet because i need some time and i wont be drive the new body style ().

The convertible will continue in the same body style for at least another year, if not two (most likely two).

But...

The taxes you pay are usually the difference in price from the trade in to the price of the new car. So the sooner the better?

Mini Freak...

I really like your PW Mini...very nice! I just wanted to throw in something you might not have thought about, however. I can understand that you might want a convertible, but have you thought about the possible cost of insurance? I'm not trying to be an old fogey here, but I'm wondering if your age coupled with a convertible (I assume that insurance companies view convertibles as more of a "risk") may cause the insurance premium to be fairly hefty.

I'm not trying to throw water on what you are trying to do, just pointing out a possible complication which you may or may not have considered. Perhaps there is an insurance agent amongst our ranks who could weigh in on this for Mini Freak?

At any rate, best of luck on your quest for a convertible.

Chuck
