im looking to put a rear BBK on the MINI. no one seems to manufacture a kit that i have come across.
does anyone know any different?

Well, that not really a BBK from TCE. It's just a larger dia. rotor using the factory rear caliper.
If you are ready to give up your E brake then you might get Todd to think about putting something together in a larger caliper. If you want to keep the E brake then not a whole lot you can do without a lot of $$

 

You are correct, Greg. Technically, it's not actually a BBK. However, it does fill up the wheel a little better and looks pretty cool. If I understand correctly, for a BBK to be a BBK a larger/multi-piston caliper would be utilized on a larger diameter rotor.

 

Stand by...you'll have your rear caliper soon enough!

I'm "hoping" we can do up the first one complete by the end of the month, but knowing what I do I'm not holding my breath just yet either.

A BBK's MAIN purpose is a larger rotor for heat dissipation. The rear does not need to dissipate heat as it does not generate it since a majority of the work is done by the front. So for performance, I highly doubt you will even notice a difference.

And if you truly want to decrease the stopping distane, buy better tires. Brakes stop the wheel, tires stop the car.

 

Not "compatible with", it will BE your ebrake.

 

While Duane is correct on the part about the need for such a kit, I'm quick to point out that the wow factor of a rear rotor kit like this will never match that of the smile you get from the front. And given the nature of the MINI (short wheelbase, light rear) the true braking improvements are rather limited.

I'm content to offer it as a complimenting product to the larger front kit. All in the name of making my customers happy with their purchase. Sometimes it's less about the need and more about the desire. I cater to both.
