i'm looking at some 18x7.5" with 42mm offset, how will they fit?

i'm going to eventually do a big brake kit so i need them to clear and under NO CONDITION will i want to use wheel spacers.

the wheels i'm thinking of doing are SSR GT7 H

I am running 18 x 7.5 with 40 offset, and I got slight rubbing with standard suspension. Now lowered with KONI Sport Springs, I get more rubbing, at least I did; less rubbing now as the plastic inner guard has worn away a little

Why don't you want to run a spacer? They aren't the devil. I run Exel TZ-10's with a +42 offset and Stoptech's BBK. I had to run a 5mm spacer and they clear the caliper by literally a finger nail. It depends on the wheel choice MOSTLY and offset. There is a thread about it somewhere......Oh yeah... https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ght=wheels+bbk

See the MINI2 FAQ. All the wheel specs are there.

7.5" and +42 sounds like a perfect fit to me.

The GT7 H should be fine. For 18x7.5" rims at tirerack.com wheel offsets from from +38 to +47mm. Recommended tire size is 215/35-18 so stick with that size for minimal chance of rubbing. Usually tirerack does test fitting of MINIs with stock suspension or they will not list the rim for that size for a given car. If it is very close they will not list it.

Choose your big brake kit wisely so that you get the clearance you need for the rims.

BBK's "usually" don't clear SSR's. Especially, if he goes with a +42 offset. I am running PSS9's slammed with this offset and I have zero rubbing issues. But, now that I threw the spacers on for the BBK I will be. Don't know yet since the car is laid up in the garage.

i thought ssr's were some of the wheels that did fit big brakes...
i've seen a mini with bbs cv's with a +38 offset, it looked good but i'm thinking they might rub with that offset once lowered.

I believe they fit the JCW brakes but I don't consider the JCW's a BBK. The Stoptech and Brembo's caliper are huge. Even if you get the offset right for fender clearance issues...Caliper clearance is a whole other monster. And most application guides are still incorrect. It's a ask or trial by error thing I've found out first hand. But, unlike you....I can live with a 5mm spacer.

BBS RV-F, 17"x7.5", +42mm offset, no spacer
SSR Comp 17"x7.5", +42mm offset, 3 mm spacer
SSR GT7, 17"x7.5", +42mm offset, no spacer
Team Dynamics Pro Race 1, 17"x7", +45mm offset, no spacer

that's the 17's though...can't find anyone with 18's to confirm.

here we go, 18's also clear the Stoptech, which means they'll pretty much clear every other BBK...
