Brake Wear Sensor Light
Brake Wear Sensor Light
Just replaced front and rear pads - had the front rotors turned - new rotors rear (salty NE roads took a tole on the rears) and new sensors. The sensor light is still on - tried resetting the tire pressure warning switch - turned key to #2 position for 30 seconds - no change. Any ideas? Brakes work well no chatter - good pedal feel etc.
Are you using OEM pads? Did you replace the wear sensor cable? The sensor is a consumable item which means that once the pad wears down, the sensor is basically opened up by rubbing/wear against the rotor which turms on the LED. It must be replaced to get the sensor LED to turn off..

That worked,
needed to clean out the boot anyway. After I made a shorted sensor wire out of an old one and plugged it into the rear, still had the light.

I just replaced my pads and sensors. The light was still on after that.
Then, I reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery and the light went off.
But in the evening, the light is on again
I am using OEM pads.
Can someone help?

if all of these ideas dont work unplug the sensor wires from the sockets and check the connections to make sure there is no grime or anything in the plug...trust me it can get even in that plug ive had to use a can of compressed air on them before
