Pepper White - color question

Hi Everyone!

I have a question on the pepper white color (and hoping it's not a stupid one -

The ones I see posted on here and the one we saw in the dealer seem to be just slightly off white and bright...... and I've seen a few on the road which like a yellowy cream - what's the difference? Just wondering if the color got updated.

Thanks!

Trace (aka Queenie)

I have a 2006 PW/B and there is no yellowy to it. I love the color combo myself. It was a hard choice between a black top or pepper white top.

Thanks! I was hoping someone would say that - not too keen on the cream myself.

We went with the black roof and mirror covers. Cannot wait to get it - I've told my husband and kids that they probably won't see me for a few days after I get it.... I'll be somewhere on the I-5......

Pepper white is the same as Old English White but they can't use that description as it belongs to Jaguar.

i have an 06 MCS PW/B with stripes, i would say it looks like egg shell or ivory white..it is still my favorite and am so glad i got it! On the yellow hue you've seen it could be lighting, pepper white is not a metalic paint and does not show much depth in terms of reflection....i feel it is classic and as stated before i love it!

Its a great combo for sure and now that I have had mine for 7 months I am saving up to start doing a few things to her. Have not added bonnet stripes as of yet but figure I will come spring. Hope that you enjoy yours as much as I have mine. PSB make sure and wave if you see me around town next week when I make it back to town!

PW/B Is one of the best combos you can buy. My family likes it so much, my Coopah is PW/B, and my Mom's Coopah S is PW/B.

It's common, yeah, but it looks SOOOOOOOO nice!

tdm156 - sure will! Did you get yours at Rasmussen? How long did they take to contact you once your baby arrived? They said ours will get there Wednesday.... hoping before Christmas, but they said they have a huge order coming in.

I saw one that was creamy colored- it was a few years old. Maybe it is the aging- or maybe too many coats of wax that yellowed. I kind of liked it though.

My wife has a PW cabrio, and while it's not a bright pure white, there's no yellow in it. Both "cream" and "ivory" suggest a little bit of yellow to me, so I would call it "off-white" or "antique white". By coincidence, it's also an extremely close match to one of our other cars - a 1972 Mercedes that the factory calls "Pastelweiss" (Pastel White).

I bought at Rasmussen and it was a great experience. Took almost 6 months for mine to come in and I took delivery in April. I travel alot and have not been able to bring my MINI along but hopefully I will be able to on my travels in the near future as its just not right to leave her in the garage so much. I was in constant communication with my MA throughout the process and still keep in touch every time I am in town. I will be in there probably the end of next week for a free car wash...that is if the weather isnt too bad. How long has your wait been Queenie and who are you working with there?

My 2006 MCSa is PW/B - It ends up being the classiest looking combination in my mind. I did not spoil it with Bonnet stripes, as that takes away the classy look!

I had the windows tinted and that was the greatest. The look is fantastic - 35% front two side windows, 15% back three windows, and 5% on the two sun roof windows. The look is great.

I agree that in certain lighting conditions it will have a cream looking hue to it, but it is definitely Pepper White.

Thanks for all the replies guys! I did spoil it with bonnet stripes just couldn't resist!

I was thinking that maybe the age of the car may have turned the paint on the one I saw - who knows. At the end of the day, it's a Mini

tdm156 - We are working with Jared - he was great. I test drove the base and the S and he took me out in his mini too - full service! I guess we got in on the end of their ordering sched. and put down the deposit end of October - not too bad all in all, but the wait is still killing me!

I was down there in November when I was home last and they said they had alot of MINI's scheduled to come in by the end of the year so it sounds like you got in at the right time. Jared was always nice to me when I was down there but I worked with Josh who is now on the BMW side but we still keep in touch and he helps me out with whatever I need. They are all great people so I hope that your experience turns out as great as mine. Make sure you keep us posted when you take delivery and post some pics too! Happy Motoring and Happy Holidays!

Yeah, I used to pass one on my commute every day that was probably an '02 and it was a yellow-ish creamy color. It was obviously not well maintained (a non-enthusiast owned it, for sure) and it was always dirty. I assume the yellowish hue was a result of not taking proper care of the PW paint.

I own a 2002 Liquid Yellow MC and love it. But I've seen a few of the Pepper Whites and they are awesome. I'm leaning towards PW whenever I trade in my baby.

I have an 06 PW/PW and it's very off-white and not yellow at all.

After owning a non-metallic black car before the MINI, the PW seems so much easier to care for.

True - imperfections and dust don't seem to jump out at you the way they do with a black car. If only the boot area didn't collect so much crud in such a short time! When I quick-detail my wife's PW, the boot and rear bumper have more gunk on them then the rest of the panels put together.

The dirt that builds up on the back is the only thing that I don't like about my Pepper White. I added the Tartan red seats which to me, truly add a nice touch to the color combo. I like the pepper white top as well but I enjoy the color contrast with the black top.
