Clutch Problem???

Saturday in Greensboro, my wife and I enjoyed the company of about twenty other Mini-maniacs. We all had a great time and talked alot about Formula 1 racing and MINI's.
One problem that I experience on my car (2004 MCS) is the poor performance of the clutch. It takes quite a bit of work to get it engaged and it makes noise when cold...like a squeal until the clutch fully engages.
One of the members told me about a common problem and I confirmed it on the forums, that there is a TSB on this situation. Has anyone experienced this besides me and how did you resolve the problem? Did FLOW help or hinder the process? What questions should I ask?
The car hasn't been raced, although I got it used, and the previous owner is well-versed in the use of a clutch.
Any assistance will be appreciated.
Randy

I bought my 06 S from Flow and recently I am having a sqealling noise when I am in first gear, releasing the clutch and pressing the gas...it sounds like a pulley or a belt is loose...

Clutch Problem

Hey Randy that was me you were talking to! Yes we did have fun....and I have some pictures of your yellow MINI on my web log.

The thing I forgot to tell you was to check your build date in the door and call your VIN into the service manager at Flow to see how long you have left on the warranty. I was looking at a 2003 S with the same problem before I bought my car and the service manager told me the service was almost ready to time out at 3 years I think vs. the miles....that would be the only concern I would have but from what he told me about this problem it was common and there was no issue with correcting it under warranty at factory expense.

I am sure there are some other stories out there...
