Tire Pressure for Michelin Pilot PE2's

Just switched to some Michelin Pilot Exhalto PE2's (215-45-17). I started out with 37psi all around, the side walls felt a bit mushy in the turns. I subsequently upped the pressure to 42psi all around, quite a bit more stable now. Just wondered if anyone has experimented with pressures on these tires to find the "happy medium" for tire wear, handling, road noise, fuel economy? Chime in here if you have any testimonials!

sure. tires are molded and outer surface is exposed to mold release lube.

that lube is still on your tires when new and prevents the tires from gripping well
to the surface. you break the tires in by driving on them to wear it off and
to wear the treads to your suspension geometry and driving habits.
