oil change
I am looking for a Mini shop, not a Mini dealership, but competent with Mini in the area of West Palm Beach for an oil + filter change.
Thanks in advance for any information.

Not in WPB, but there is always Mymini in Pompano Beach.

I called the shop and I got a quote exactly similar to the dealership.
In this case I"ll play it safe and go with the dealer: car was bought brand new in October.
... but only if MiniTess is willing to wait until the standard service interval of about 10,500 miles - since the car was new in October and has 1900 miles on it, looks like they're looking for the controversial "get out the new car wear" early oil change... (which I did myself at 1500 miles, so no controversy here...)
The oil change is a pretty easy undertaking. If you don't feel comfortable doing it, I suggest you find your local MINI club and seek out a friendly MINI owner who does their own changes. I'll bet if you supply the $30-$35 in parts & oil, you can find a new friend who will do it for a GOOD 6 pack (no Schaefer Light)... a lot cheaper than a dealer change... even if they want two good 6-packs, still a bargain... this is what MINIacs do for one another...

Yeah, stop by on Sunshine Minis if you have any further questions. My Mini is the cheif sponsor there.
We also have many owners around Flroida happy to help.

I would like to change oil+filter at the end of the break-in period which is way before the standard 10,000 miles.
I wish I could find somebody to do it: I will supply oil, filter and beverages of choice
plus I want to learn in order to do it later on by myself...........and, who knows, help a newbie
I just sold the Mini this afternoon
