LOOK! Black M7 DFIC. Install tomorrow

I just picked my new M7 DFIC with heat coating top and bottom. The kit is really nice and packaged very well. It came with everything I need including the new scoop, boots, screw, and even a DVD. The spayers should be here next week and I also want the new thermal blanket coming out, that lays under the intercooler. I will install it first thing in the morning before work and test it out in the cold morning air. I will have to change my sig from Alta to M7. Here are a couple pix I took, sorry but it is a camera phone.

Yeah, no problem. It looks very easy about the same as the Alta.

I am at home in Lompoc and the wife is watching a pad in Cito... I can dwell out on NAM till 1 am without her b***chin.
I dont know about the mod, I am losing it:impatient

I am thinking the DT BPV, VGS mod, ALTA occ, and ALTA v2.0 air diverter.

I am getting the air diverter and occ for x-mas and the other stuff is pretty cheap. I want the x-mas presents early, but I already got my wheels early, so I might be pushing it.

You have got the mod bug in me all over again! I was doing so good for a couple of weeks there. Damn!

You better get to bed, what time are you going to wake up to install that thing 4am? Oh wait I forgot what type of mechanic you are... You will only have to wake up at 7:00, get the work done and still be at your day job by 8:00

I'm also thinking about getting it or the new updated Alta intercooler. I've heard that M7's DFIC as a habit of popping out of the rubber sleeves.(connectors?) Can't decide which one yet. I almost got the GP intercooler but decided to hold off on it.

Yeah you are right 7am I will wake up and I should be in my tie driving to work with my new DFIC on by 8:30am.
I know what you mean about the freedom of being on NAM at night. I only have about 8 days left before I move in with my girlfriend. I have to saver each moment. As far as the mods get all the mods you want, its your money and sometimes you just have to love yourself first and second and sometimes third.
Peace out, time for bed.

Whats the GP intercooler? You mean the stock one from the limited production GP Mini? If thats what you mean I wouldn't even waste my time with stock OEM crap.

The M7 DFIC will not pop out of the new silicone boots. The fit is very tight.

Oh btw it does look sweet but i do have a question. You said it has a thermal coating. I'm Guessing that is to keep it from getting hot to the touch when you go under the Hood? If thats the case. Since all the fins are sprayed with it too.. Doesn't that hurt the effiency alot.

Hey Mugami,

It's not a thermal barrier coating, it's a thermal dispersant coating. As the name suggests, it disperses the heat along the surface, increasing the efficiency.

Hopefully this link works: http://www.techlinecoatings.com/intr...rmaldispersant

That's just one manufacturer.

Mario,

congrats on a kick-*** intercooler. But no offense, you need to get a new camera. All your photos are blurry. We understand that you're justifiably anxious, with your new parts and all, but still. It makes it hard to drool when we can't see things sharply!

I know it is a great phone but a crappy camera. I have a real camera but can't find the cable. I will make you drool as soon as i find that cord.

I think I'm to dyno it again a local shop near me that works on Vettes. I just hope he can do front wheel drive cars. His machine is a dyno jet and I will just SAE, same as before.

Congrats! Glad you like it. You'll definatly notice a difference in the performance. I'm not sure you'll need their scoop cause your's is enormous! I'm still waiting to get my scoop so I can paint it and install it. Let me know if you do go get it dynoed and they can do it for a Mini. I'm looking to get a baseline Dyno. Not sure I wanna drive to Ventura to do it, but maybe!

M7 has redesigned the intercooler boots and included their own. I can assure you, I installed mine, and there's absolutly no way it's popping off short of someone taking a hammer to the IC and hitting it about 300 times as hard as they can. I can't even move the IC once it was installed. It's completely firm.

GP Intercooler has 2-4 additional banks of cooling fins, and is slightly larger than the stock IC. It's a good OEM mod, but for the money the DFIC is a better buy!

The new boots that M7 gives you with the DFIC keep it nice and tight.

Yeah, let us know if there's a HP increase, even if it's from the proverbial butt dyno...
