I was totally sold on the sunroof as soon as I saw it and I think it looks great either way although I like the way it looks in the black roof a little better because it is no where near as noticeable. Some people love the contrast of the sunroof with the white roof. I personally liked having it masked in the black roof, but that is just my personal preference....
Regardless of what you do, I am so excited about the sunroof.....it is wonderful to drive around with the windows down and the sunroof open on nice days. Plus there is a screen that you can pull across to minimize the sun glare and keep stuff from falling in your car when you are motoring through the woods as I was the other day....

Whatever you decide....it will be wonderful I am sure!

Cheers!
L.Mini

I think it looks the best with a white roof! The whole "look" with the white roof and mirrors is contrast, so why not add the sunroof. I did!

I ordered my sunroof with a white top. Yes the sunroff is large and contrasts with the white roof, but the sunroof is a good design with virtually no profile. You don't notice it unless you are on top or very close to the car. The large opening is great with extra light for front and rear. It kind of reminds me of the old canvas sunroofs from the 60's. (Yes I am showing my age.)

Forget how it looks. First test drive the car on the freeway at 50+ mph with the roof open and then see how you like it. Also, the sunroof does lessen the structural integrity (crash worthiness, etc.) of the car.

I ordered a sunroof with a white roof. I love how it looks. If you want it "invisible" then go with the black roof. I like the contrast and you can't see it unless you are right on top of the car. From another car sitting by its side the Cooper will look like it has a plain white roof.

Ummm...Rokk1, what kind of cars are you talking about? There aren't that many metros and MINIs where I live...all those big truck and SUV drivers can definitely tell! But, it still looks good either way. I chose the black roof w/my yellow to make it look more aggressive. Yellow and white is cute; yellow and black says stay outta my way. And maybe, "don't touch me" so I won't have that common problem

I totally agree with you about the black with the yellow. I have never liked yellow cars and the first yellow MINI I saw had the white roof and it didn't do too much for me. I then saw a yellow MINI with the black roof and mirrors and I thought "Wow! that is one hot little car!"

I got the sunroof - it came as part of the premium package. I might not have ordered it it, but I really like the look now. I have a white roof, and it kinda reminds me of the old Webasto ones - it's longer than most, and even when it's open it's still bigger than most. I like it.

I debated long and hard over the sunroof issue. I think it breaks up the clean look of the white roof. If I had gone with the black roof, I would have gotten the sunroof, but I'm going with the white roof, so I'm not going to get it. But I'm not really big on sunroofs anyway. The real issue is: are you going to use it? If you are, get it regardless of the roof color of the car.

The sunroof is almost as big as the roof anyway, so I wouldn't worry about it. MINI has done a great job, from a design standpoint, of putting colors together, so you probably can't go wrong. These people make six-figure incomes to decide which colors work so that you and I don't have to. All we have to do is make the payment and enjoy. Once you're in the car you won't care what color's on the outside, you'll be thinking about how great it is on the inside.

Happy Motoring,

J.

I don't really like sunroofs, period. But if you do have a thing for them the MINI's top of the line. I men tha's a SUN roof. But on the MINI I would think about it hard because I think the sunroof kind of ruins the smooth clean "line" of the car.

I have the dark silver MSC with white roof and it looks fantastic, I am much happier with it over the ds and black roof. The black is just to dark for me. Heck you are going to be on the inside anyway looking out, so just think of how happy you will be "motoring" with the roof open and windows down. Cannot beat it!

MCS, DS, white, PP, SP, Leather, and English Bulldog, Maxamillion!
