Pump gas this morning...

We might be in for a long drive commute tonight/tomorrow
morning with snow. :impatient
also, check your tire pressure in the morning before you leave.
you need minimum 32psi in there (33-35psi ideal unless you carry
more passengers). it's going to be a cold weekend.
My G started its official hibernation last night. pumped tires to
38psi-39psi.

ahh! that reminds me. I need to throw my show shovel in the
Civic's trunk. my community's snow shovlers are slackers so i need
to shovel my own driveway at times... even though we pay a monthly
community fee.
i don't like to open my garage door just to get the shovel.

Good job!
no one takes these warnings seriously until
they are either stuck in snow with a flat or out of gas, or another
major inconvenience.
5-6 more inches of snow coming today. drive safe out there.

Yep...Cold snap and a little snow went through Reno last week...lasted about a week. I always do my autos in early Nov BEFORE the weather rolls in....The Element goes first since it is used daily in the winter
had flushed out my brown coolant (about 3 yrs old (original) and to heck with their recommendations on brown coolant and 4 yr intervals! It had dropped to -20...spec is -34!) It had all kinds of stuff in it...but pressure tested fine!
1) topped off the washer tanks, changed the oil, (do not like oil sitting in the pan that long)
2) tires had dropped from 35lbs to 30 so I put em back to 35
3) put a float charger on the battery (Using the bonnet connections Positive and ground to frame point)
4) Put a fresh coat of Carnuba wax on....Ozone kills paint even in a garage!
Finally it will hibernate in its own garage for the winter...maybe be driven a few times per month if the roads are not messed up...always be started a few times a month....keeps the seals from drying out.

Agreed...
...It has a nice semi Heated garage to hide in when the weather is bad or even threatening...that's what the "uglymobile" is for

If I go on a run, I always give it a good wash and dry with the ole compressor...gets the water out of those nooks and hidden odd places....Only thing I always have to remember is to get the Brake dust off those super heavies
...which will be off the Mini this spring in favor of some R84's I picked off Fleabay at a great price! Damn...that dust is nasty! Thanks for the additions...Hope you are over that wicked snow by now....! ugly!

it's got the Rain X "stuff" that helps water bead up and just run off the glass at speed, I use my wipers very little at speed.
I used the blue stuff for years, thinking it was the same, then one day there was no blue stuff to buy, so I picked up a bottle of Rain X winter and that was an eye opening bottle.
