How long should they last?

While checking my tires today, I discovered that they are done. Yokohama AVS100 with 9,300 miles on them. Rotated every 3,000 miles. One pair is now at 1/32 and the other is at 2/32. The miles include 3 autocrosses of 11 runs each. The wear is pretty even on the tires themselves, but I was expecting them to last a little longer. What do you guys think?

AVS100 wear

That is the one reason I did not buy the AVS100. Just about everyone that
I talked to said that 15000 would be close to the end for them. I went for
the KUMHO SPT. I have close to 15000 on them and there is still plenty of
tread left. I drive hard on the street and have done one track day with them.

Yup thats why many bmw owners dislike them..
they aren't super sticky but they tend to be on par with super sticky tires.. in terms of mileages....

Well, that just sucks. Wish I did get 15000 out of them (that was what I was expecting). Looks like 10,000 is all I get. I have them mounted on both my Minis. The other one only has about 7,000 miles on the tires but they are down to 3/32 all around, so probably that one has about 2k more left in them. Oh, well. No more Yoko's for me. I think I will give the Good Years a shot.

Thats what I am leaning towards. I don't track my street tires anymore (have a dedicated set for that) so I figure the Good Years will be a better value in the end.

Probably not a lot of use, but I have been running Falken Ziex ZE 512's on my Mini for the past 6000 miles. Every sign is that they are going to last a long time.

However that is not the big news, the big news is that they appear to perform just as well as the F1's I had on previously, for about 1/2 the cost.

They are very progressive, they let go very gently and are fairly 'vocal', they are quiet on freeways, but squeal when the going gets tough

All in all, very impressive especially so when you consider the price.

I'm almost to 9k miles with my ES 100's and it looks like they will be going another 9k. I do quite a bit of highway driving but I definitely push them in the corners.
