Door Locks - possessed?

I have noticed that my locks auto lock typically when they should, but I have noticed strange locking and then unlocking behavior. Usually around stops and starts, but also in straight-aways. Anyone else experience this?

Also, last week, the little door to the boot seemed to open on its own. I know it was shut when I left my garage, but when I arrived at my destination, it was wide open.

Does my mini need an exorcism?

From your signature I will assume you have a convertible. If you haven't learned "the technique" yet on closing the boot here it is....From full open and hanging down, put your hand under the handle, and literally throw the boot closed...don't leave your hand on it the whole time just a quick throw and it should stay closed. I had a convertible for 1200 miles and closed many many open boots in the dealer showroom (worked for a MINI dealer the last three summers).

As for the door locks, sounds interesting. Maybe get it checked out at your dealer? Good luck.

The only thing that comes to my mind is relays acting funny. Check your battery. If there is corrosion on it, it could screw with the relays and cause strange things to happen. On my first car, the auto seatbelts started twitching and clicking. It was just the corrosion on the battery.

Let's not get hasty here...perhaps Pumpkin could pitch a new movie deal to Disney...after all, the Herbie franchise is dead!

I've only had the car for around 9 weeks. I don't know if the battery would corrode that fast.

I will just report this to the dealer when I take it in.

As for being Herbie's predecessor, with a Mini, I am sure that it is possible. I do think she drives herself at night. I don't know how all the miles are racking up!
