R50/53 How many time have you watched The Italian Job '03?
How many time have you watched The Italian Job '03?
And what is your favorite driving scene in the movie?
For me, I think, I have watched about 10 times at least before I got my MCS, and another 4 times since last week (after I got the car).
My favorite scene is when Stella test drive the MCS in the warehouse.
It seems like she had so much fun driving the car, the same as I am now.
And don't you like the sound of the MCS..... sweet sound of the supercharger.

I've seen it many, many times. I lost count and that was before I had ever considered even getting a MINI. Maybe seeing it so much brainwashed me.
As far as the car's go, the warehouse/test drive scene is probably my favorite as far as the MINIs go. Although I really liked the scene where she's driving the mini through Philly too.
The last time I saw it I noticed that only one of the MINIs was an S. I was surprised because for some reason I had assumed they were all S's but I had never really paid close enough attention. I also noticed that in some of the driving scenes there were some warning lights on, on the speedometer. That's probably due to the fact that they were beating the crap out of the cars.

There's also about 20 other threads with the same subject. Have fun reading!
BTW, only one car had a "whine" and its enhanced with Hollywood sound gizmos ...
You're right. There is only one Cooper S, Stella's car. And if you listen closely, her car is the only car with the sweet supercharge sound.
Link to the sound clips, MCS with JCW tuning kit.
Love it

Dude ... I dont mean to be rude in any way but do you think just maybe ... many, many people have that in their driveways and can listen to it live everyday?BTW, it also doesn't sound anything like that at all in person. JCW exhaust is very muted and quiet ... refined as Michael Cooper says. Many ppl rip it out and put other catbacks on.
BTW, you should hear it with a Borla Race on.
Have fun! Enthusiasm is cool!

I love the '03 remake of the Italian Job. I loved when Charlize drove her red classic Mini like she stole it through the streets of downtown Pittburgh to get to her job.
I watched the original movie with Michael Caine, and with the exception of the actual heist scene with the Mini's, I disliked it. I supposed it was a different time back then, and movies had different sensibilities and priorities. I gotta say, I thought it pretty much sucked. It was boring and much too campy for me...

Obviously haven't seen it too often. It's Philadelphia not Pittburgh and please don't try to tell me it's all the same.:impatient

I think the sweetest part of the movie, is when all 3 MINIs start following each other on the sidewalks in Hollywood and go into the subway just barely beating the train!!
Now that said im off to go watch it, havent seen it in a few months!

I've watched TIJ seven or eight times (at least)...of course it was great having a MINI back in the summer of '03. Such celebrity!!!
My favorite part of the film is when Charlie finds out how narrow/wide the hallways are at Steve's house and then exchanges knowing glances w/ Stella w/o saying a word. Driving wise, yeah, Stella's "test drive" is pretty darn cool!!

Haven't seen it lately, but a few weeks back when I was visitng the HQ of a large pharma company in New Jersey, the guy at the gatehouse was so excited to greet me that he couldn't remember where he had seen the car before...
"That car! That car! That's the car from that great movie! You know - the movie with the three little cars just like yours!"
"You mean "The Italian Job"..."
"Yeah, that's the one..."
Anyway, we are not the ONLY fans of this movie....

Watched it 3 times, the first time at a friends house in Florida prior to ever considering a Mini as my next car. Did it influence my decision to buy a Mini? Not really, --I thought the boat chase at the beginning was far and away the best scene in the movie.
I know most NAMers will disagree, but there isn't a single car scene in the movie that could hold a candle to the car chase in the movie "Bullet"....somehow the sawed-off shotgun out the back window was much more intense (and believable) than little pistols fired from rice-burning motorcycles.

Favorite driving piece is a VERY short part - where "Steve" (blue mini) rips a perfect handbrake turn in front of the helicopter, leaving the Mini facing the camera with the wheels cocked *just so*, with that little engine rev sound... nice...
Still one of my all time favorite movies. I saw it once before I ordered Dobby. When I ordered him, my MA gave me the DVD. I had a ten week wait. Let's just say I ran out of fingers AND toes when counting the number of times I watched it.
I can't choose between the scenes. When she's driving the classic in Philly, or when they are driving through the sewer system taking the cars on the "test drive" which, BY THE WAY!! Here's side note. You can tell that when they are filming, that that scene originally was supposed to be shown AFTER they got the gold. During that "test drive" you can see that Handsome Rob's door is already dented. The dent that occurred when the guy on the motorcycle crashed into it. Yes, I have no life. haha
I also love the scene in the warehouse. That may very well be my favorite.....

Your like me when watching movies. I took a class in highschool all about video editing and production. So I look for continuity errors and the like.
As for watching the movie, maybe 5 or 6 times. Last saturday I stole it from my sisters house though, so those numbers will be going up
