Has anyone tried the Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2

when swapping out run-flats for conventional tires? How do you like them? I currently have the OEM Dunlop SP Sport 9000 DSST and they are noisy; especially when going around corners at low speed. The harsh ride I expected since my car has the Sport Package along with the run-flats. However, I did not expect the grinding sound that comes with the low speed cornering...it's annoying to say the least. Your thoughts are appreciated. TIA!

From: Wet Side of Washington State
CINIMIN has 205/50/16 Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2's (for all but winter driving) mounted on ASA JH6 wheels. I did lots of research before investing in the Michelin's and I am very pleased with the ride and handling - big improvement over the 17" Runflats. Very secure in wet conditions - and relatively quiet. We have done lots of mountain driving and a couple of extended trips around Washington state and have never felt like we were pushing the tires even close to their capabilities - including a full day of performance driving school.

The Michelins don't have the aggressive look of some of the other tires out there so they don't get much attention - but they do perform very well.

I got my tires and wheels through Alex at Tire Rack and was very happy with the service.

I was an engineer in the group at the Michelin R&D facility in the US that developed the initial Michelin run-flat offering for North America, and although I don't work for Michelin any more, I will never buy anything but. Having seen the QC in the manufacturing processes Michelin uses and the amount of money they spend on development, I think they are worth every penny. And I know first-hand that they spend a lot of effort addressing noise & comfort issues, even in their performance tires. I don't have any personal experience riding on their current low-profile or run-flat tires, and will probably go with non run-flats when mine wear out (I also have the sport package and am worried about strut tower mushrooming), but they will be Michelins... Just my $0.02
Good luck!

Added to the performance and the quality (I have PE2's on Team Dynamic's white wheels on my JCW CR/W) is the fact that PE2's are one of the lightest tires out there.
