Looking for a Tuner Shop in SFBA

Hi guys/gals -

I recently picked up a '04 S with Madness Stage 2 kit. At slow speed, I am hearing rattling noise coming from the rear. I can only hear it at low speed especially when rolling to a stop. According to the dealer, the noise is from the rear sway bar. The dealer would not touch it since it is an aftermarket part. They suggested I replace it with the OEM part (~$800). I'm hoping something can be done to fix it without replacing it. I am looking for a shop in SF Peninsula. Thanks.

Thanks, yumhaggis.

Any other recommendations from others? I see so many nicely modded MCS's around Peninsula. I know some of you are here. Where are you taking your rides to?

Please feel free to chime in with your thoughts on the noise issue as well . . . possible causes and fixes.

Regarding the noise...

If it is a sway bar in the rear, any competent suspension shop could fix that by lubing the bushings and not charge you $800 in the process. You might try a two step process - check with a suspension shop about the noise and see what they say about it. If for ~$100 the noise is banished, then you have "found" about $700 for other mods....

Ditto on the Bay Bridge Motors.
Does the rear anti-roll bar also have aftermarket end-links using a spherical rod end?

caminifan - $100, I can handle. I only wish I have another $700 for other mods like you said.

jimz68 - I spoke with George Mehellick at Mini-Madness and he recommended Bay Bridge Motors as well. The car is going in to them for a check up. I'm not sure if the car had aftermarket end links. We'll find out.

483FITTER - Cambell is definitely closer and will keep that in mind for future work.

Not only do the bushings need some lube, I'd have them check the bolts connecting the end links and sway bar. If those are at all loose, you'll hear some rattling as well. This can come loose over time and aggresive driving. Just my 2 cents. Bay Bridge is a great shop...
