Obsessive Compulsive MINI owners thread

How many MINI owners have OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disease)? What is the most obsessive or crazy thing you have done with your MINI? The other night I touched up some scratches on my black M7 DFIC with a permanent marker while using a flashlight. Other times I get so crazy that I don't even have the energy to chew through my restraints:impatient

I use the California Duster on them daily.
I use Griot's Window Cleaner on the outside of the windows daily, inside twice a week.
I use the Griot's Speed Shine every other day.
I dust the dash and interior with a MF cloth while stopped at traffic lights.
I hand wash both of them at least once a week.
I wax both of them with NXT Synthetic at least once a month.
I claybar every 3 months.
Let's not even talk about the number of Q-Tips I go through.

Can I join the OCDMO Club ??

You know how to clean a MINI, Paul!. I saw you cleaning those wheels before the MHTH run and you were doing a pretty good job of it. I think you can handle the job on your own.

Forget about the speech problem, PD. Anybody who washes wheels twice a week is in the club ! (my least favorite detailing job) I'm impressed !

Right after me

Guilty for the following reasons:
  1. Only comfortable parking their Mini at a restaurant only if I can see it out the window.
  2. Preplans routes/destination with Google Earth before deciding to take out the Mini.
  3. 2 year old son instinctively knows to never touch the Mini.
  4. Wife knows how to get in/out without scuffing the rocker and close the door with one finger
  5. Blows off dust after each drive with compressor and polish with Mother's detail shine.
  6. Washes wheel once/twice a week.
  7. Cleans windshield and glass after each drive.
  8. Caught in the rain only at the Dragon.
  9. Checks garage door at least twice a night to see if it's still closed.
  10. Says "hello" and "good night" to the Mini...oh boy...

This will be a crowded club!

I SpeedShine and wash windows nightly.
I check for the dreaded washer fluid/cosmoline leak every time I get out of the car.
I cover her every night - or as I say "put her in her jammies and put her to bed."

I'm so OCD, I've been threatened with divorce (no kidding!) over mine. Does that qualify as adultry?

I don't know if it does or if it doesn't. But if he's stupid enough to get rid of you just because you love your MINI and treat it well, I think you're in the right place to find a large pool of men who would embrace you and your OCD.

Garaged during the week, only take him out on a dry weekend day.

dust, mist&wipe, clean the wheels, etc. after each run.

i can't stand a dirty weekend car.

Dear Dr. Phil -

I park the MINI (at the farthest end of the parking lot), get out, press the lock button on the key, walk 50 ft., press the lock button on the key, walk 50 more ft., press the lock button on the key, continuing all the way across the parking lot. then I press the lock button. You get the idea.

Does this make me OCD?

Dear Bullfrog,

You do KNOW that the button only works from about 30 feet away, right ?

See me next week at this same time and please pay the receptionist on the way out.

Thanks,
Dr Phil (CR & PW is typing for me)
