Brian, Thanks for bringing this up. Inquiring minds want to know.

The next NAMCC is next Monday Oct 30th at Buttonwillow. Is anyone going? We're racing with USTCC for the season final Oct 29th in Las Vegas. Right now we should clinch the Rookie Award and finish 5th overall. I think a good outing for this year.

We might tow to Buttonwillow for Mondays NAMCC if there are others going and we didn't break anything.

I will be going if my tire search is a success. I have already told Phil I am trying to get out to the race.

Hey Rich, you wouldnt happen to have any tires lying around? It would be great to race against you again, and chat about USTCC.

I will be calling the Rep at Kuhmo about tires tomorow(Phil told me to call him as they may be sponsoring the series next year). We will see.

Also, I geuss this will be my official beg for R-compounds by next monday... Anyone? Anyone?

I've heard that he was 10th in race one and 8th in race two but haven't been able to confirm. I can find the points but not the race results.
Knowing the general number of cars on grid, I'd say not too bad considering that he was sitting on the other side of the car and shifting with his left hand.

Edit: Race results are correct and can be viewed here
RACE ONE
RACE TWO

This picture from the MINI Challenge site looks rather soggy.

Wow, it sounds like he was holding his own. Congrats to Way! Not bad considering he was in a right hand drive car he had never driven before.

Thanks guys. The results were correct as I finished 10th in race 1 and 8th in race 2. There were 35 cars that started both races so it was pretty tight on the track. Race 1 was dry as it was suppose to rain. I got held up on the first 2 laps by a slower S then proceeded to work my way forward. I could see I was gaining on the 3 cars in front as I kept trying harder and harder to catch them. But due to missing several shifts (that darn shifting with the left hand thing) prevented me from ever moving up.

Race 2 conditions were totally different as it started to poor rain. The race before ours had 33 cars start and only 15 finished. So it caused a delay and our race didn't start till after 5pm. Now if that didn't make me worry with only 15 cars finishing the race before. I had never raced in the rain to top it off. The race was a rolling start and after the warmup laps we found that starting anywhere but row 1 you couldn't see a thing with the spray coming off the car in front. So slow and steady I ran the race and actually made it up to 6th place before small off track drive cost me 3 spots. I finally finished in 8th place. I felt alot better about my performance in race 2 also I had 3rd fasted lap in the rain. Not to bad, and more importantly I didn't damage the car that was on loan.

Thanks again to my customers without you none of this would have happened. I hope to post more details of my trip and even some photos soon.

I hope to make it as I have to leave by tomorrow morning to make it there by Monday. I've been sick since I got back so I haven't even unpacked. And no I'am not jet lagged. We'll know late tonight or tomorrow morning if I'am going to venture on the trip.

wow Way. Good job man!! Sheesh, I've only driven one big ol van that was right hand and that was in the UK. It sure takes a while to get use to and I can't even imagin trying to race like that in the rain. I wish MINI would have provided you with a left hand drive to make it even, but it would be tough to find one fully prepped in the UK.

Way, if you need a place to down Sunday or Monday night let me know. I have space on the futon (coz Brian has the Queen).

Also, how did the UK car compare to yours? Was it quicker? No where close, or about the same?
