I turned 10k miles today in my MINI. I picked it up in June from MINI dealer in San Antonio. So far I have really enjoyed it, although I could really use some more power. I have had only one problem that has needed repair: faulty belt tensioner. I have had 2 other issues that I will mention when I take it to the dealer for service: random locking/unlocking of doors and the steering wheel mounted stereo switch keeps falling off. Rather minor problems but problems nontheless.

Hope you have enjoyed all 10,000 miles. I'm about there myself and still can't wait to hop into MINI each morning and head out on my daily commute. I've had to replaced a leaky power steering pump and have the same problem as you with the random locking/unlocking of doors. This only happens when I use my spare key. Let me know how they fix the problem. I wish you many more miles of blissful motoring.

 

i just had my 10K service today (about 8900 on the clock since january).

So far, everything has been great. Only issue was a small crack in an exhasut welld that caused a bad vibration. All fixed up, and in the basement, due to an aftermarket unit!

Pulley is on the work bench - just waiting....
