how long does it take to make a Mini

Mine took 4 months, Oct 04 to Jan 05.

 

about 5 full days? I think the chasis is about a day. painting is about a day. It was quite amazing to see how a E90 is made at the Munich plant. Takes ~~5 days.

It's pretty fun. I asked them for a picture of the marriage process. and was bumbed out when I couldn't get one. I think one of the most exciting things about the mini ownership is the waiting, the anticipation, that something you envisioned is being created :-). Good luck =)

 

Four Months, wow thats a long time to wait, they are telling me mine will show up in around 8 weeks. If it takes 5 days then my baby should be finished today

 

So...you finally ordered it. Congrats, near the end of the model year things move a little quicker usually, because they can move them quicker (since they have building them down to a science), and the demand is less. 8 weeks is probably a good estimate.

 

H.A.W.G., that's an interesting name for your MINI, "Anesthesia". Do you think she's going to be such a smooth ride that she'll put you to sleep ??

 

I hope he dosn't think that...MINIs are many things, smooth riders, they are not.

 

She is named after a Bad Religion song ( punk band from the 80's).

It has always been one of my favorite songs of theirs, and It thought it would be a cool name. And I thought it would be good to get it out of my system now, instead of trying to name my daughter that

 

Yep, gotta agree with ya there ! Better name for a MINI than a daughter !

You could really confuse your future daughter by naming her Anastasia !

 

Doubt my dear Anna will make it to see my daughter, I am freshman in college and I plan on selling her and getting an MCS once I find a decent job after college

Blasphamy. If that's the case you should have just ordered a stripped "S" now for the same price as you're paying. What's wrong with the cooper? Other than off the line speed, coopers can keep right up with "S"s in any condition, including 10,000 ft. above sea level mountain canyon twisties. Plus, a spare tire comes in handy.

I think you'll find that the cooper is well balanced with nothing missing. More power? Hook up some MTH software. There are paths to more power with the cooper, but if power was the number one thing we chose the cooper for, we'd probably all be driving mustangs. blah.

I might keep her, My cooper is bare bones so, I cant get an S for the same price. I might decide to mod the hell out of her instead of buying a new one, but I would really like to be able to get all the things I want, that i couldnt in Anna. And I will love her with all my heart dispite her being a little under powered compared to her cousin, the MCS
