Miles till Service

Help! I took my mini to a generic garage for oil change so as not to hurt a friend's feelings, and now I don't know how to re-set the computer that tells me how many more miles till service is needed. A real Mini serviceman told me I could find out here at NAM. Anyone?

See this link for the How-to.

But if the MINI is still within the 36,000 mile period it gets a free oil change @ 10k, 25K and one other time.

Although depending on how its driven more frequent changes maybe needed.

I'd invest in one of the scan tools that will read codes and reset the service interval, too. This is where I got mine: http://www.bimmerzone.com/Mini_Cooper_reset_tool.htm

I bought a used 2006 Mini (less than 6K miles) ... do I still get the free oil changes mentioned above?

Funny you should ask; I'm at Prestige MINI in Mahwah, NJ right this second for my second oil change. 33,000 miles just rolled over! :-)

Dave, I'll be there in 2 weeks for some "before the warranty runs out" work. Can you leave me a few thousand of your miles? Just put it someplace out of the way...maybe behind the coffer maker!

I also bought my MINI used, and it was the dealer who informed me of the free scheduled maintenance up to 36k (somehow I missed that in the manual).

I bought mine new (ordered it, actually) at Prestige and it still feels brand new to me. Just so much fun to drive!
I still have the MOT 2006 rubber duckie on my antenna that they were giving out before the day's motoring around New Hampshire.
