Did the person who hit you at least stay or leave a note?

On a related note, when I was 16 my buddy hit my new S10 in the parking lot on the first day he had his license. I wasn't happy for about 30 minutes, but then I just loosened up and decided it was pretty funny.

Ouch!...I'm sorry to see that. But from seeing the damage, it could have been worse. It still sucks though.

Ouch!
People in SUVs seem incapable of seeing anything smaller than an Indian elephant while driving.

My 2002 Mini got totaled when some idoit ran a red light. Took out my whole back end. Luckly I was alright. I had a 2003 Honda Civic SI and within the first week my friend ran into me. I was pissed at him for a long time. Hope everything goes smoothly with the insurence, they can be a bear sometimes. Much Luck

Aw man...sorry to hear about the damage. Hopefully the other person's insurance company won't be so much of a pain to deal with. Make sure to take it to a body shop of your preference (they may pressure you to use their preferred shop), and most of all, don't accept the car until the repair work is to YOUR standards. I've had my fair share's worth of these types of incidents with my other vehicles :( Not fun at all!

His Property Damage Liability coverage should cover every penny of the cost to repair your car.

If he is driving uninsured, and you carry Uninsured Motorist coverage (most states mandate it), then this coverage will pay for your damages.

If you need to leave your car in the shop and require a rental, it will be covered under your Rental Reimbursement coverage, if you've decided to carry it.

Bottom line, there's a good chance this won't cost you a cent. Of course, you have to deal with the inconvenience of taking your MINI in to the shop. And nobody likes to have body work done on their precious baby, no matter how minimal it is.

And yes, I know how those "insurance people" are. I know VERY well.

to keep it light when a fender bender occurs, but funny? Not in the least. There's just so much wrong with that attitude. Maybe if you 'd been peeved, amazed, stunned or surprised...but funny? Sounds like at that time you either didn't pay for your own vehicle or insurance or you didn't know the value of money & hard work.

Funny is George Carlin or Lewis Black. Not funny = damage to people or property.

Make sure you ask the insurance company for "diminished value" My 03 MC was hit in a parking lot and not only did their insurance pay 100% to get get fixed, they sent me a check for $735 in diminished value. Bought a MyMini
touring exhaust and a flat screen monitor for my computer.

BB...

Sorry to hear about the accident! I hope that all goes smoothly as possible (insurance companies are always a crapshoot...I hope you end up dealing with a fair, honest and most of all REASONABLE one!).

This post was not meant to bash SUV's . Your statement stands true for cars and trucks also!!!

Sux about your car though. Hope it gets a quick repair.
I worry everyday when I have to do carpool at the high school, I think the only thing on those teenagers minds are getting out of there and they don't pay attention, half the time they are talking on their phones, I won't pick them up in the mini, I'm to afraid of it getting hit.

Last week I received my firs nick from a parking lot at Wal-Mart. I saw the guy that did it but I didn't know it was there till I got home and walked by my passenger side and there was a chip and a small dent. The guy saw me as I walked towards my car and started walking the other way to another store and I should've realized something was up but that's life I guess.

Too bad this had to happen so soon after getting your car. Good luck getting it repaired.

Last week a client's dog jumped up on my door, scratching the paint. I wanted to kick the dog, but wanted to get paid.

My wife was hit two days ago and the other guy's insurance is going to fix everything, including replacing the hood, stripes, and bumper.

last week, a lady parked her minivan over the line into my space. her 10 year old daughter opened the door, not once...but twice, into the side of my mini. When I let the lady know, she said "I'm sure she didn't do it on purpose"...No DUH...she's 10 years old...but she still did it. I was more angry at the lady for not knowing how to park correctly in the first place. Some people!
