Data DVDs and MP3s

Has anyone had any luck getting a data DVD of MP3 music to play in their stock MINI radio units? I was able to play data CDs in my unit, but can't get it to play DVDs. I was hoping that DVDs work and that I'm doing something wrong. DVDs hold so much more information that I would be able to get my whole music collection on less than one DVD. That would be so cool for long trips. If anyone has been able to get them to work I'd love to hear from you .

Nope - the stock units won't read DVDs. It's a shame, because as you said, that would make for hours and hours of uniterrupted music without having to change discs.

My last .mp3 format disk had 107 tracks and didn't use 40 % of the available space on a CD-R

Oh well it was worth asking

I've been getting the answers that I was expecting. To bad they weren't the answers I was hoping for. I have two CDs with most of my music collection on them. I also have some left that I can add to a third CD. I was just hoping I could get them all on one disc. Thanks to everyone for responding to my question .

iPod Solution

I have my iPod wired into the stero system and it is marvelous. I can operate it from the steering wheel and, theoretically, drive 11.6 days straight without hearing the same song twice (or, more practially, hear custom playlists)! I highly recommend it--it was worth every penny of installation cost to me.
