Hate this weather...Warning, this is a long rant.

WOW! I must have made someone up there angry! Now as some of you know, I don't drive my MINI to work. It is my weekend/fun car. I saw on the weather channel that it was going to be sunny and mid 80's so I figured, what the heck. Right. WRONG!!! Wind, Sideways rain and hail. I found shelter for the brunt of the hail but the owner said that we could not stay parked there. I found a good tree to hide behind and went to eat dinner.

The storm WENT ON AND ON. It took like 1.5 hours to get home and then I have to get the 2" of water out of the garage because the gutters were backed up!!! The Camaro and Studebaker will need to be moved in the morning to dry out the garage all the way. And I was told by dad that his shop has flooded quite a bit more that normal. AAARRRRRRGGGGHHH!!! That means it will have to be cleaned in the morning too!

I hate this weather.

Oh, the MINI did well in the rain. The Kuhmo's were good but they could not clear all the water that was on the ground.

WOW, just saw the RADAR for the first time this evening. That is a BIG storm. If you made it to the end of this rant, good job!

it's only wind and rain...

Now the hail, that's another story and sorry about your additional work for the morning.

Don't forget the 1.5 hours home. There was no traffic, I just could not drive faster and not get killed!

Drew, I know. I am glad nothing did happen. I mean we have power and can write all about it.

That reminds of the time when I was in Chicago this summer with my MINI...sprinting through the hail to my MINI to get it into a parking garage . Jeez, Chicago is a great city, I love it...but the weather is sometimes .

I HATE rain...

Why? On Sept 11 (yes, that 9/11) I had my driveway dug up and repaved by some fly-by-night hooligans. NOW every time it rains hard, all of the water from a shared driveway rolls onto my backyard and floods. I get water in my basement everytime. I'm ready to scream My friendly @$$ neighbor doesn't see a problem with the driveway. Well yeah.. because all of the water is in my basement . SO tonight, it rained, Hard. and it hailed hard. I'm sitting in my basement praying for the rain to stop . I can see the window wells filing up with rain water from my driveway. I have water seeping into the basement under the sillcap of the house. I have a pump running at full capacity trying to get the water away from the house, but it's too much water in a short period of time (at least the power didn't go out this time). Now I have to clean the floor.. again (remember the tornado warning 10 days ago...) and I still have that stinkin driveway and crappy neighbor.

If anyone on the northside (Glenview) knows a good, HONEST driveway person.. please let me know.

Thats too kind, I'd have gotten some dirt and redirected the flow of the water

Believe me.. I've tried. all of the water from the drive rolls to a corner created by an enclosed porch. The water has no where to go.

crap, it's raining again. I can't sleep.

Most of the storm drains down the street from us clogged with leaves and people were walking up to their waist (!) with rakes and long-handled tools trying to unclog them. Our basement took water; the garage took water --- but we had no hail. What a night!

Well I can't say that my basement flooded. But it made me mad, I just washed and waxed my car the day before. It sat out in the rain at school for like 7 hours. Then the rain stopped. It was like sunny. Then the stuff that made you guys happy came my way, and it wasn't very pretty. It rained almost 15hours straight here. It was raining when i woke up at 6:30am yesterday, and it was raining when I went to bed last night at 1:30am. With only about an hour or two max in that time period where it didn't rain. Oh well, can't really do anything about it... except move.

Hey by the way my parents also dislike those neighbors of yours MiniMac2005. Always been a *$(# ever sinced they moved in. Maybe I should buy that house and we could work on the mini's all day! As for driveway guys talk to my dad. He has done so much research on driveways.... yet he still has rocks.

I've been thinking about that too. I wish they would move. I'd buy their house just to stop the headache. Maybe we can buy it together. It would make for a great MINI hangout with the dual driveway Your dad knows my driveway issues all too well I'm afraid. I was thinking of doing the rock thing too, but the wife won't go for it. Especially since our driveway is so long...

Blake - sorry about hijacking your thread

Was hanging with some friends after flag football at Diversy/Halsted down in the city. That rain came hard and fast, and the hail!

Not much I could have done...was raining too hard to get home in any descent amount of time...just sat there and watched.

But weather like that seems to just pop up out of nowhere.
