Red Leather? Mini Wall Poster?

My First Post. Great forum! Helpful information and friendly. Thank you! Gleened as much as I could using the search but have a few unanswered questions I was hopting to get answered.

Gave my wife a choice between the Mini and a new C6 Vette and she chose the Mini after a brief test drive. Wouldn't even go for a drive in the Vette after the Mini! After reading that the new version of the convertible would be 6 mos to 18 mos away and the supercharger would go away and not wanting to buy the first year of a new body and engine, decided to order an 06 now.

Been lurking for a bit and just ordered one of the last of the 06 CR Convertible S for my wife whose Z4 lease is coming to the end. We ordered it optioned with Cold weather, Sport,Convenience, L. Slip, DSC, the aero kit but left off the JCW pkg. Just couldn't justify the cost since she doesn't drive very aggressively. Also didn't order Nav.

Couple of questions. We ordered CR interior the Cordoba seats which appear to be two-toned. Looked OK on the website but can someone post this combination in a picture if you have it?

Saw some pics of red leather inserts on black seat which look really sharp but didn't see that as an option. Is it only on the Works Package? Would we have to go to an upholstery shop and after we take delivery?

Looking for a Mini poster to hang in the garage. Some sort of Mini racing would be nice. Any ideas where to get one?

Thanks so much in advance
jd

Sounds like you have a sweet MINI on the way!

I can't help you with the interior trim pics you are looking for, but allposters.com has a nice poster of the evolution of the Mini to MINI.

Yeah, neither did I until I was MINI-ized Now I want to autocross!!

She's got a great ride on the way. I give her three months with until she mutters, "Should have gotten JCW." I really wish I would have!

People always ask other people what their dream car is. Well, I have mine. I just wish it had JCW!

You can always add the JCW at the dealership. It costs about the same as having it from the factory, but you don't get the JCW brakes included in the price.

There are lots of aftermarket things you can do as well

I take it you ordered the cabrio, then? I too have a CR MCSC, and to my dismay when I ordered, the leather/cloth black/red seats are NOT available on the cabrio. I believe any tin-top can get these, but not the cabrio. A shame, I think, as I believe it would look very sharp top down with these seats. To get that look, you need to go custom, or maybe buy some new seats from Mini parts with that combo. An expensive proposition either way.

Wet Okole makes seat covers for MINIs They have a red and black option that looks pretty nice: http://www.wetokole.com/

There is a vert thread that briefly discusses seat covers. See page 3: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...t=61319&page=3

Thanks! Off ebay, from one of the retailers. I'm sure a search on ebay would give you the name.

Can't get over covering up leather with neoprene. May take a look at taking the seats to a custom upholsery shop. Would guess I could get red inserts for less than $500 including labor.

I don't have a cabrio, but I worked with the dealer to replace my black leatherette seats with custom leather on my MCS. The price was the same as ordering leather from the factory! (Ok, still expensive.) The benefit was that I was able to completely specify and mix/match leather types, colors, and threading... I'm very happy with the end result...
