Remus Exhaust

heylo,

does anyone know the model number of this exhaust (on the page) or can tell me where I can find it? I like exhausts that are fairly low and non obnoxious if you have any other suggestions as well.

Thanks,

queto

Ebay?

I am buying the Rspeed exhaust from a member on NAM, I like the sound, weight, looks, and the dyno numbers. Although, I am not expecting much in the way of noticble gain, but I will be happy if the butt dyno can tell the difference.

although I have an MCS with the Remus exhaust, I have to say I have been delighted with the product and the sound.Going through tunnels is an immediate excuse to drop down a few gears and really open it up. No Ricey sound........very smooth and refined.I was told by GBMINI a while back that Remus has decided to drop out of the MINI exhaust systems business, but I continue to see them advertised on some mailed flyers and Esale emails I get. Most recently at Bavarianautosports in Portsmouth NH.Good luck(check gallery for some pics) Jock

I had the Remus on my old Cooper (non S). It was great !! The sound was nice and not too loud, but had some agressiveness to it. The Tip was not too large, but bigger than the stock one, so it actually looked sporty. Also the tip was very well done. It looked expensive. I bought mine from Moss MINI, but I don't think they carry it anymore. I would do like the above stated and try EBAY to find this exhaust.

I just purchased a Remus exhaust from E-bay for my 2005 MC. It was used for fitting purposes so is in a slightly used condition for $135.00. On the box it has the following info: Rover....type R50 and model 754001 0507. I have not installed it yet but have been assured it should fit no problem even though it was made for the 2002. One of our club members prior to upgrading to a MSC had this exhaust on his MC and in his opinion it is one of the best sounding exhaust systems out there.

I wanted a Remus for the longest time, but ended up with Milltek. It's a mellow, stainless cat-back. I really like it, but it is more expensive than the Remus.

Had the Remus exhaust installed yesterday. Since it was for a 2002 MC we did have to fab some brackets so it would fit, but other then that it was not too much trouble. The one pictured in the post above has different mount brackets so it looks like it should fit a 2005 no problem. Looks very good and sounds even better. I am very happy with this mod.

I purchased an RSpeed cat-back from a NAM member, it was on his 2002 MC. It bolted right on to my 2005 MC with no problems, and no modifications. all I had to do was bend one of the hangers about a 1/4" so that the tip was centered in the cut-out.

I love my Remus. Had it on my 03 and now have one on my 06. But, I had to do some searching and eventually bought it off a friend. They don't make them for the non-S anymore.

The Remus sounds great! OctaneGuy has one, and I've heard it first-hand. I think it's my favorite sounding Cooper exhaust.

As far as the RSpeed goes, I really love the sound of it as well. I think they may have fixed the problem, but originally it didn't fit well on the '02s. At least that's what they told me after I bought one for my '02 back in the day. They were very cool though and let me return it and stuff. My guess would be that they've updated it by now.

Sorry, kind of rambling there...

For installation see

(exhaust found on ebay sold by Remus USA)

Contact Remus USA on ebay-

Ask if they have any more for sale for the MC and what is the part number.

I've had my Remus exhaust for about 2 years now and still think I made a good choice.
If you like a nice sound but which is not too loud.. go for Remus.

I don't know if the article numbers on the Remus site are correct.
The mountings from the 2002 and up are different from the 2004 models.
On the website they mention the same partnumber, so if you would go for the Remus I'd check at a dealer or at remus first.

I haven't read ALL of the threads in referrence to the Remus Exhaust but I would like to know if anyone (non-S) removed the resonator when they installed the Remus Exhaust? I LOVE it right now but am wondering what it would sound like and also wonder if I'd see even the slightest gain??? No matter how little it will be.
Motor On!

I also have a Remus - thanks to Octane Guy for the DIY. Love it. I think if you remove the resonator, it would get a whole lot louder. In my mind, too loud. With the resonator and the Remus, there is no droning, only a low throaty growl when you get on the throttle. Very nice sound level when not pushed hard.

I remember hearing OctaneGuy's remus when he had his Cooper - if you find one I think you'll be happy with it. If you want to consider something else for any reason, I have the MyMini Touring Exhaust (with resonator) on my '06 Cooper, and the sound is wonderful. Very mellow, low throaty growl when you get on it, but it just about disappears at hwy. cruise. Very reasonable price too. There are several threads here on NAM about it - I think Peter had to change his business name from "MyMini" to "Minspeed" or something like that due to rabid, BMW court-weasels

Thanks guys. Yeah I loved the Remus. Was one of my best mods for my Cooper. Although I sold the Cooper and got a Cooper S, the Remus lives on in a friends Cooper. I swapped his stock exhaust for my Remus before I sold it, and I know he's love it.
