Fall Cruise Repeated? 10/21 or 10/22?

So I know there are already a couple of events planned in October, but thought I would guage interest in one more.

Last year I put together a nice little fall cruise through some of the scenic roads west of Chicago. We drove over some nice roads, bought pumpkins, grabbed some dinner and even finished the day off with a movie the only remaining drive-in in the Chicagoland area. I think most people thoroughly enjoyed it (we had about 15 cars or so for the drive and about 5 or 6 stayed for the movie).

Anyone interested in repeating the event this year? I was thinking Saturday, October 21. The leaves should be at their best, and harvest would be in full swing out there. So it should be a scenic drive.

So let me know if people are interested in going again.

Sounds like it would be awesome! However, we'll be out of town that weekend...Maybe next year!

That weekend is currently good for me, but unfortunately Sunday's are not possible during my son's football season. I'd be up for this if others are interested too. Good suggestion!

I might be able to do it that weekend... it depends on whether it's an early or later start time. Last year I remember it was an afternoon run because of the drive-in movie afterwards (that I didn't attend )

November?

It looks like people are pretty busy that weekend, and I got an email from Steve at CMMC suggesting we consider doing this in November sometime due to the large number of MINI events already on the calendar in October.

Would people still be interested in doing this towards the beginning of November? Maybe this would be that last event before winter officially kicks in?

I would like to do October. The MINI goes into storage at the end of October. :( I will just have to ride with other people for the winter months.

How about the afternoon of 10/21 for a VERY informal run out west?

Say 1-4 or so (I'm making up times). 2:30 to 6 works just as well if Francis needs time to dry off.

At least 2 or 3 of us would liven up what would otherwise be a solo run for me....

Paul, Blake, Francis...anyone....what do you say?

Could work with me. I am thinking the dark could work for my MINI. I have some surprises I am working on.

Would 2:30 work for you guys? I think we might corral Francis if we start later. He told me not to plan around him, so let me know what works best for you. I am wide open.

Here is a sample 75 mile route through some very rural countryside that keeps us close to 90 (for quick beginning and quick return home). I think the whole thing would take us about 2 hours (plus travel to and from).

Alternatives include going thru the small towns that I have skirted on the map...

Thoughts?

That would work out fine. I might be able to swing and pick up co-commander Austin too. He's ready for another run.

The party is that night, starts at 6pm up in Marengo. We may break off early if needed.

That's great Paul; I don't think you'll need to. We'll be done long before then I bet.

I'll post up some ideas about a meeting spot later this week. Very informal.

Who is officially "in" for this?

Good stuff! It may be just the two of us -- I've PM'd a few others. I'm working on a starting point now. I'll post it. Bring Austin.

Excellent, I'll look for it later and Austin may or may not attend now. He wants to stay after speed skating practice and play alittle roller derby.

Either way...look for me tomorrow.
