What a sad day for my mini.

I'm so clumsy!!! I hate driving thru drive thrus. I never get close enough to the cashier window. This happened at Starbucks. Apparently, the curb sticks out to where the window is which I think is stupid. I hear a scraping sound as I pull up. I get my order and park the car to see how bad the damage is.

You have contracted a dose of curb rash. It is treatable but not with antibiotics. There are companies that can deal with it. Do a search and ye shall find! Chances are, you will not do it again.

Nooo!!! Such beautiful wheels too.
On the plus side, it does look like an easy repair but I know that doesn't make you feel any better. My condolences.

I feel your pain. I did it last week on a white S-Lite

I feel for you. I owe my wife the Web-Spokes off of my new car that's arriving next month because I curbed one of her Web-Spokes doing something similar.

I've done that a couple times with my web spokes while parallel parking at my school. :(

The road I usually park on needs some serious road work - the gutter and road are very uneven and that just makes it harder to get in - plus the MINI makes me try tighter spots, and sometimes curb rash happens.

Ouch is right! That's not too different from what the fellow did to my X-lites when I had new tires mounted in April...but each wheel was damaged. mad:

I recently did something similar to the front passenger wheel on my V8 Miata. Afterwards I sat there and thought, "How could I be so stupid?"
The consequences of being human.

Me too- one of my wheels got gauged by the tire jockey. They gave me free installation though!

I guess those runflatz are hard to get off.

It's alright...I curbed exactly HALF of one of my S-Lites a few weeks ago - it was acutally the same situation as yours, except with the cashier at a parking garage...The curb actually came further out than the window itself!

Good thing the S-Lites aren't my favorite wheels I guess...

Always remember: coffee before tight squeeze drive thru...

The dreaded wheel scrape is almost as bad as the first door ding.

My advice is to mount that rim on the rear passenger side. That way you'll hardly ever have to see it!

I agree. However the first boo boo is always the worst.

It's your MINIs way of saying "please no overpriced hot beverages in the car!"

Seriously though, that's too bad and I hope that's the worst thing that ever happens to your car.

True dat! I spilled a latte on the centre console of my Subaru once and it took me all afternoon to get the last remnants out. Ever since, if I feel the need for a Starbuck$, I'll pull over, park, and sip it while admiring Simon.

My husband did that to my Dobby one time he was driving. And he never did fess up. He has a habit of hitting curbs. But regardless, Dobby's boo-boo looks REAL similar.

But it's bittersweet - I have to have the rims replaced anyway. They have been hit HARD with unavoidable potholes here in NE Ohio. 3 of the 4 are bent. :(

I told my boyfriend that I wanted it replaced as a x-mas gift. The dealer said it was $489 for one. Hmm....maybe it's not worth it. I'd rather get a Louis Vuitton wallet for that amount. The funny thing is that I really don't care for my wheels. I just felt bad because my boyfriend bought them for me when we ordered my car. To me wheels look all the same, but then again I'm a girl.

I know that there are ways to fix it up, that include sanding and filling. Like body work. Maybe you'd like to have painted wheels now?
