I must be insane

I will be attending a Chicago MINI Motoring Club drive tomorrow and had a dirty car. Five minutes into the washing a huge rainstorm rolls in. So now I am out in a downpour trying to finish up the car.. standing water in the street, and at the curb it is deep enough to reach the bottoms of my 15 inch rims.

As I pulled the car around the back to the garage to dry it, the alley was a solid pond of water.

I must be insane (but the car does look good now).

Hey good job . I have been there too. No rain is too hard, no water too deep, and no weather too cold to keep us from cleaning the MINI. Insanity is a good thing.

Was just thinking about my nasty white wheels, and the fact that I "should" go to the store, buy the wheel cleaner stuff, and go to the car wash in the rain and wash my MINI, then 4 more football games started and I "should" just stay here in my safe and warm livingroom.

I was thinking about washing mine too . After running to the basement at work yesterday (from the 4th floor) for the tornado warning and everyone hoping my MCC didn't get any dings from the hail I've decided to run "as is" tomorrow

Fortunately, no dings It took me a while to get home because a lot of the underpasses were flooded. THEN I arrived home to a dark house because the power went out for several hours. Great way to start the weekend

The best part about running "AS IS" with a MINI, is the fact that a dirty MINI is still better looking then any "clean" car on the road. Sometimes life is just more fun when your dirty.

And the better part is that if the MINI doesn't have mud. It looks clean until you make a closer inspection. At least mine.

True story... In our area we get a lot of restriction for use of water. So one day it was raining pretty good and I went out to my car that needed a cleaning... brought out my car soap and my wash mitt and scrubbed away on my car and let the rain rinse it clean ... Yeah I thought that was insane..and sure a few neighbors did to. Oh well

I think that does technically (clinically) qualify as "insane." Nonetheless I will be sure to comment on how clean it looks tomorrow!

Even BSSP knows we are not "normal" drivers and are insane.

are you kiddin... I wouldn't let my wife see that... that sort of information would spread through the family like wildfire.... It's one thing for your neighbors to see how insane you are... but there are certain things you don't need your wife holding against you down the road sometime.
