Glovebox Latch Comes Loose...

Hey guys, how's it going? Been signed up for a little bit, never got around to posting but I've got an '02 Mini, anytime I hit a bump with it the glovebox comes unlatched and swings down.

Even if it's not a bump on the road, like if I whacked my dash hard enough it'll pop down. I was checking it out and it seems the hook doesn't have enough space to latch in the slot (if that makes any sense at all).

Anyone else have this problem, know how to fix it or anything? Thanks in advance, hope to be posting around here more often...

Here is a link to a fix. I have not had an issue since.

I think it is a problem with 02's and 03's had mind replaced under warranty. Dealer said it was a problem with those years

Yeah I have this same problem since I have lowered my car. Next time I am at the dealer I will mention it, I wasn't aware that it is a dealer warranty fix.

Thanks for the link man, so just take out the glovebox and move the latch back a tiny bit?

I'll have to give it a try this weekend, I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks again.
