Oxygen Blue?

Okay, does anyone have any idea what Oxygen Blue is going to look like? I'm assuming it'll be a lighter blue by the name, but you never know.

I did see that it'll only be available on the MC.

I would agree, probably a sky or even (dare I say) cerulean blue. Granted that would still put it pretty close to "Laser Blue." I guess we will just wait and see.

I was upset to see that they kepy Dark Silver. As a DS owner, I think there are already plenty of us. Hmm, that's not a very "Good Cooper Owener" thing to think.

No one knows as of now....tis a mystery. I've seen some speculation, yes, but that's all. We can wait and see....and well worth the wait since it's non-metallic.

Okay, now that the Paris Auto show started, does anyone have any more info about Oxygen Blue?

Still no word on Oxygen Blue from what I can see. More folks are asking, so that's a good sign.

Well, they had a picture or oxygen blue a long time back when they first mentioned the colours, so I have seen it... The closest example is this smiley face ( ), but quite a bit lighter... I would have definately considered it if it were available for '06! I'll try to search for that pic...

I don't know why no-one else saw this pic!?

EDIT: Ok, here is a pic I found... It's not the one I saw originally, and I dunno if it was photoshopped or someone custom painted their car, since it looks like a 1st gen... Wasn't paying too much attention when I first saw the pic... Oh well, at least it's probably close...

Ah well yes, that picture is of a 1st generation MINI color that never saw the light of day. Folks on MINI2 were speculating that this might be close to OB, but it is probably not the actual color. The silence around this previously-announced color is intriguing. It is not available at present for folks spec'cing out an '07.

Why all the cloak and dagger surrounding the release of the Oxygen Blue color?

I for one am dying to find out what this blue looks like! It would be nice to see a different shade of blue rather than a non-metallic version of Electric Blue or Laser Blue. Also, it's too bad that it is only offered on the MC and not the MCS as the Cooper S could use some more non-metallic color choices.

On a side note, I do wish that MINI would bring back Space Blue for the R56! Maybe in 2008? One can always hope.

Seems to me it is either 1) being withheld for drama's sake, 2) proving to be a problem to get "just right." Based on the hints/speculation we've seen, it could be a tricky color, 3) May not happen afterall. I mean, we haven't even seen a sample as we have with every other color. Maybe the info got out prematurely?

Well, I SWEAR I saw another pic, and it was definately an R56 - right when they announced the new colours... It was a front/side view... The pic in my previous post is definately lighter than the one i saw, but it is a kind of close. It was also a little greener... I searched for the other pic everywhere and I cannot find it, lol... It is like they removed it and it's top secret now, haha!
