If the skunk was alive, you get to put a vinyl cutout skunk profile on each front fender.

If it's dead, your stuck with just the stink.

Either way, you get the stink for awhile.

Well you bundle your little mini up and haul it into the bathroom. Fill the tub and immerse the little baby. Using tomato juice just isn't going to cut it so a mixture of baking soda, hydrogen peroxide and dishwashing liquid may be more effective.

If it was a dog, you would use (BTW: I've found this works well on dogs):
  • 1 quart (or liter) of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide, H2O2.
Use fresh (unopened) hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). Hydrogen peroxide eventually turns into water (H2O).
  • 1/4 cup (50 ml.) of Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml.) of Liquid Soap
  • 1 pair of plastic or latex gloves
But seeing as it's a car and not a dog....
I believe it's call "time removes all smells"

I found out what I posted in jest actually is advised. I found out my dog formula, or part of it IS suggested to deal with skunk smell on a car. Use the hydrogen peroxide... spray on, wipe off. If it foams you've found the skunk spray. They detail it at this link.

Easy. Have the dealer "deal" with it.

Skunk odor remover

Of course if you were driving faster, the stink wouldn't have stuck to your car

I say... take a LONG drive tonight. It's cool out so you should be able to drive the smell out and get a good night run... or just ignore me it's late

Ammonia works well to remove skunk odors. I'd powerwash the undercarriage very well first, and then spray household ammonia liberally inthe general area where the skunk hit.

Unfortunately I have a good bit of expertise in this area. I grew up on a farm, and for some reason the skunks liked our house. The worst episode involved a skunk spraying extensively underneath our house. We had to leave the house for several weeks the smell was so bad. We used ammonia to get rid of the skunk and the smell on that occasion, as well as several others. I actually was called to the principal's office at school and was asked to leave because I smelled like skunk so bad that I was causing a distraction.

Thank You all for the "tips" I washed out the wheel area and left it out over night, the other 3 tires did'nt like that, and found almost no odor this morning. I did warn my fine service writer. Then they gave me an "S" and sent me on my way. Steve it's a good thing I don't own an "S" or I'd need bail money every week. LOL

I pick up my baby friday morning, and return the "other women" to the dealer.

Cheers, Dustin
