King of the Claddagh Run
King of the Claddagh Run
During the Indy stop of MTTS, a few of us were turned away from this fine dining establishment due to arcane Indiana state laws regarding minors in "bars". Apparently a 10-year old might pick up bad habits while eating dinner.
Anywho, it ends up that the Claddagh Pub is a 17-location-strong chain of pubs, all of which have the same suppliers and recipes (according to the bartender at the original Indianapolis location). Which means that the King of the Claddagh will most likely be the same delicious half pound slabs of whitefish in Geneva, as they would have been in Indy. If you don't have the belly for the King, you can also get the 'Heir to the Throne', which is one piece instead of two.
So, we disenfranchised diners discussed the possibility of getting together at one of the northern Illinois Claddaghs for dining and fun. Their locations are in Geneva and Algonquin, so we could also put together some sort of back road journey to snake our way to the pubs. There will likely be some drinking involved, so it probably couldn't be a sanctioned CMMC event, but that doesn't mean we can't have some fun.
Any takers? I'm pretty free on dates, except for the last weekend of September.

Count me in! I live 2 minutes from the Geneva location.
Were you with the rest of the club in that corner lot? There were a few guys there that wanted to go to Claddaghs.
oh ya- last weekend of Sept is bad for me also.

I am all over it as I live about 20 minutes away. We will have to bring Austin so we can get him started on bad habits!
Yes Paul, that was us that wanted to go, but as Jeremy stated we couldn't get in with the kid in tow. That is ok though, he is a cool kid.

I'll say that Austin was bummed we couldn't get it. How's he suppose to learn properly! Not at some Italian place but at a good old Irish Pub where men are men and the ladies are...well lovable.
Any dates good with me, Geneva sounds fine for the location. As for Austin, I'm sure he won't have hurt feelings if he skips this one.

Friday isn't my best night, but if it works out for everyone else, I can be out there. As long as I'm back in town by midnight or 1, I can still salvage an evening of going out
