I smell marketing at work...People were upset when they got an '03 disk in their '05.
Solution A: Provide updated disks to dealers.
Solution B: Post date disks so when someone gets a year old disk in '07, it looks new.

I'm still a bit pissed I got a 05 with an 03 disc
i just saw the website and the new dvd 2007.1 is there... anyone get it yet? i'm just wondering when they'll update the software so we can get lots of street names in the perspective view... unfortunately now I can't use the perspective view because it barely gives me any street names...

I've compared the discs very briefly -- at least a few new local streets in my area are on the 2007-1 disc that weren't on the 2006-2 disc.
So,
I'm leaning away from Navteq's "relabeling for fun and profit" mindset, and
I'm leaning towards Navteq's "we've got updated data--more updates mean more disc sales" mindset.
nbame786 - This map update doesn't change the firmware, which determines what's shown in Perspective view.
nbame786's right -- Navteq's site now has the 2007-1 for sale.

I am not at all impressed with navteq. I've written to them several times regarding streets in our neighborhood that are several years old that don't appear on any of their products (e.g. Yahoo! maps, my SatNav, etc). I even sent them a satellite view from another vendor showing dozens of streets they don't include. No response.
As for the MINI nav system, there are about three streets in our city that are apparently digitized, the rest (some verging on a hundred years in existence) get the "accurate navigation is not possible" message. I won't even bother getting any map updates until I start seeing our neighborhood on Yahoo, Mapquest and the rest.
