Buying Canadian vs. American

I'm wondering, do the Canadian MINI owners here find any advantage to buying parts from a Canadian vendor as opposed to an American vendor? It seems to me that with the strength of the Canadian dollar, buying American is a bargain. Taxes will be charged equally, and shipping charges won't be that much different in most cases. Do people see an advantage in buying from a Canadian vendor?

I just bought some goodies for my MINI and purchased them from the USA. Lucky me, I didn't get charged any duty/taxes on a $170.US order. It was definitely worth it with the dollar costing around $1.11 to buy. The only problem I see is some dealers only sell to the US and will not ship to Canada. I'm fortunate to have relatives in Conn. who can redirect the shipment to me. With shipping costs, I'm was still ahead of the game buying in the USA (everything I purchased was lower priced in the USA). If the Cdn. dollars keeps rising, it might be worth while purchasing a new MINI is the USA - time will tell.....
